Fox News: The Unethical And Shameless Attempt to Rub Out Donald Trump

Fox News should be utterly ashamed. Donald Trump should sue the network for harassment. There’s no other way to explain it.

Look, whether you love Trump or not, what Fox News did to him last night was unethical and downright nasty. Do tough questions need to be asked of Donald Trump? Duh. Of course. But that first, ‘raise your hand” question was a setup.

Just to refresh your memory, the Fox News Moderators asked the candidates the following:

“Is there anyone on stage, and can I see hands, who is unwilling tonight to pledge your support to the eventual nominee of the Republican party and pledge to not run an independent campaign against that person. Again, we’re looking for you to raise your hand now — raise your hand now if you won’t make that pledge tonight.”

Fox News TOTALLY KNEW Trump would raise his hand and none of the other candidates would. FOX knew the answer ahead of time. They wanted to see Trump squirm. It wasn't honest. You should only ask a “hand-raising question” if you truly don't know what all the candidates will do or where they stand.

Now, should FOX have asked that question to Trump as a separate stand-alone question? Sure. That’s fair. But to purposely know the answer ahead of time and embarrass a presidential candidate like that was foul play. It gave credibility to the theory that Fox News has no desire for Trump to be the standard bearer for the GOP and therefore he needed to be shown up in front of millions and taken out.

Here’s a question for Fox News: If you’re going to play the “hand-raising game” then why not ask this question:  "Raise your hand if you would support Donald Trump as the nominee of the Republican Party? That question never came.

Oh, one more thing. In the first debate, the Fox News moderators decided to give all the candidates a chance to pop off about Trump. Of course Trump wasn’t on stage to defend himself. What’s up with that? Fair and balanced? Hardly.

Fox News has always been labeled as a mouthpiece for the Republican Party. On the debate stage in Cleveland, what we saw was a blatant attempt by the network to rub out a republican candidate not of their choosing. They don’t want Donald Trump anywhere near that nomination and they did everything in their power to get their wish. They want a traditional republican holding the mantle. You want to bring to light all of Donald Trump’s past controversies? That’s fine. That’s fair game. But the manner in which it was done is the problem. You knew how it would play out. You knew it would be an embarrassing moment for him and you loved every minute of it. Why? Because while the network may be a mouthpiece for the Republican Party, they want the right mouth. Not what they consider a loud mouth.

Are you kidding? There is no more relevant question if we are going to have a chance to beat the Progressive/Socialist Dem in this election.
Trump is a BULLY and everyone time he opens his mouth it shows more and more. Kerry and Cruz, for instance, have been talking about and acting on illegal immigration for years - but The DOnald takes credit for it being an issue.
He bullies the other candidates, curses anyone and everyone who dares debate his ideas, his past..
And YES, that very same question did require all the rest of them to COMMIT to backing him if he should win.
We do not need a bully who is crude, uneducated on the issues, and plats fast & loose with our laws (4 bankruptcies) and the Rep party.

David, get real. trump doesn't belong in the race for the presidency of the United States. He is nothing more than a buffoon, a shill. Why the people of this nation permit such cretins to disgrace our political system is beyond all comprehension and reason. Fox News has always been a neo-conservative media outlet with little or no regard for the accuracy of it's data, especially when attacking the democratic party. But with this lineup it certainly shows the country what the republican party stands for: money, war, chicanery and forget about the working class!

I agree thar FOX has playrd dirty pool with Trump's debate questions. Rush Limbaugh also critisized the moderators moderators for attacking Trump unfairly.

Is Fox news getting to be like the Big 3, it seemed last like they did. I was very surprised at the first question asked. I like Trump for stiring things up. You go Donald. I love Dr. Carson and Carly, but go Donald.

I thought I was the only one who thought they committed an act of political assassination with the "raise your hand tactic." Someone should have chanted "Hands up;Don't shoot!" It was clear to me that Fox did not want Trump to be the nominee. I don't favor Trump, but he is becoming more attractive as the power players stack up against him. We need to elect people that will break the lock that the "establishment" has on government that has made it impossible to tell the difference between America under the Democrats and America under the Republicans.

I only have a few things to say to describe what I saw happening at the debate. The moderators threw "bombs" at Donald Trump and he turned them into "fireworks". Shame on Fox, shame on Kelly and the biggest shame is on the Republican Party for having put them up to it. That first question was out of bounds. We don't need the party to put pressure on the candidates. That's what the Party keeps doing to the people and we've had it. Most questions even to the other candidates were harassing. There was no need for that. Fox behavior is unacceptable. I support what Trump is doing but I am supporting another candidate for President.

THANK YOU thank you!! FINALLY someone who is writing the "truth" instead of writing what someone in these 'controlled' media outlets write. Americans need to wake up to the reality we have standing before us. When things like this happen in front of their faces...it is amazing to me how "ignorant" and "clueless" people still remain to be. We are heading in a very-near "socialist" government existence. We are also nearing a great possibility of going into war...we have already been "threatened" war and we sure do not need people in office who will allow this tyranny to the United States that has already been committed by the Obama administration to continue. FOX was absolutely out of line for the way they treated the GOP Debate and Trump. They made WE as AMERICA look like an SNL stint when the elective process for our next "President" should have been treated with respect, dignity and 'fairness/unbias." I applaud you. Keep up the "honest" reporting. TRUMP 2016

The reason the Republican Party want Donald Trump out of the race is because Donald Trump is a threat to their party's agenda. Donald Trump will not pass policy's that hurt American's and the working class. Versus the GOP wants to cut social security benefits and food stamps to people who are barely able to live off of minimum wage. Instead of raising the minimum wage so they would be above the federal poverty line they would rather end or cut the food stamp program. Donald Trump has criticized the GOP for trying to cut and dismantle social security. Not to mention calling them out on breaking the promises to the people who paid in the system. That is why they want rid of Trump. If they want to make cuts then why doesn't the GOP end Corporate Welfare. That would bring more revenue and savings then cutting welfare programs.
