New Movie Debut: Ted Cruz Stars In Mission Impossible

Ted Cruz: Your mission, should you choose to accept it is to change Washington DC and begin a constitutional conservative takeover.  This message will self-destruct in 5 seconds….

Ted Cruz, and his Tea Party colleagues have a long way to go in their efforts to accomplish this mission. This is not a mission that can be solved in a two-hour motion picture. This fight will be measured in years, maybe decades. Now, if you listen to the mainstream media and the GOP establishment crowd long enough, you would think that Cruz and the other political “wacko birds” are destroying the GOP. They will say that the only, “mission” Cruz is accomplishing is sending the GOP into political oblivion. On that point, they may be right. Guess what? That may be a good thing.

You see, all the pundits who are sipping lattes inside the Beltway are being short-sighted here. Ted Cruz’s stand against Obamacare is not the end game. The end game (the mission) is to change the Republican Party; to provoke fight after fight so that the GOP can be purged of those who are NOT committed to the cause of constitutional conservatism. Will it be messy? You bet. Will it cause Cruz and his “Wacko Bird” flock to be ridiculed and heckled by those within his own party? Of course. Will the media fully embrace the storyline of GOP infighting? Duh. And will all of this lead to political problems for the GOP at the ballot box in 2014? That’s entirely possible. But that’s what happens when you stage an, “intervention.” Things get messy. They get bad before they get better. The GOP is like an alcoholic who is being told to stop drinking and get sober. That’s the message from Ted Cruz and the Tea Party but the GOP Establishment is fighting it.  They don’t want to get sober. They want to stay drunk on power. I mean really. Do you think some genuinely conservative GOP Establishment figures (like Boehner) really want to compromise with Democrats? No of course not. They only do so because they know that it will be bad politics if they don’t.

I know there’s been a lot of talk about how the GOP only controls the House, not the Senate and the White House so they have to give in. And yes, I’ve heard the, “elections have consequences” line from some within the GOP. I also understand the Tea Party wing up on the Hill simply doesn’t have enough members in it to affect real change. They are swimming upstream, hence the fact that they are being told to compromise since they don’t have the numbers. All of these are legitimate arguments. Until Cruz, Lee, Rubio, Paul get a few more like-minded members, they’ll be in a pickle. So what can they do? Are they just supposed to compromise on their principles? Instead, what can those constitutional conservative House Members do? Honestly, not much until they get some reinforcements. And what’s the best way to do that? That’s where the Tea Party movement comes in. Let me be blunt: It’s time to put up or shut up.

Why do I say that? Well, the media is going to go with the narrative that the GOP is in disarray and that the Tea Party is to be blamed for upcoming losses in 2014. Guess what? The Tea Party movement has an unbelievable important window of opportunity here to prove that this movement of lower taxes and limited government is not just a flash in the pan. They have an opportunity to get more mobilized than they ever have before and prove everyone wrong at the ballot box in 2014. We keep hearing about how there are millions and millions of constitutional conservatives in America. We keep hearing that there are more of them than squishy moderates. Well, let’s see. Time to put up or shut up. If indeed the Tea Party movement is to be taken seriously (like they were in the 2010 Midterm Elections) then they are going to have to show up again but this time in a much larger way. Why? Because the battle for the soul of the GOP is on and that’s why it will be paramount for Tea Party leaders to not just mobilize their existing base but to grow it as well and actually get people to put down the Doritos chips, get off the couch and fight for constitutional conservatism to be the defining stamp of the Republican party. Otherwise, the Tea Party movement will be shown as having little force and the GOP moderates will win. Simple as that.

All of this feels like Mission Impossible but didn’t George Washington and a few of his Founding Fathers colleagues face incredibly challenging odds too? This has been done before. Nobody said it would be easy. Look at it this way: At least principled constitutional conservative Ted Cruz is leading the way instead of movie star Tom Cruise. Now that would definitely be Mission Impossible.

# RE: New Movie Debut: Ted Cruz Stars In Mission Impossible

Hopefully killing Obamacare is Mission Impossible.
The reason the Tea Party wants to abort it so badly is because they are scared to death that it will be very successful and popular as it was in Massachusetts.
