Only on Brody File: Santorum Jabs Chris Christie, Rand Paul

In an interview you will only see on The Brody File, former presidential contender Rick Santorum says he needs to, “keep my options open” when it comes to another run for the GOP presidential nomination.

Also in the interview it became pretty clear where Santorum would position himself if he decided to run: in the potential sweet spot right between Chris Christie and Rand Paul. Read this comment from the interview:

“You have folks on the left and on the right, the libertarian right and the moderate Republican left who are in some cases joined together certainly on one issue: on removing social issues from the core of the Republican message.”

This interview was done on The Brody File late last week. The video and a partial transcript are below.

Also watch Santorum talk about his new movie project as head of EchoLight Studios.

Rick Santorum on presidential run: Of course I’ve thought about it. I would say this: If you would have asked me four years ago if I was running for office I would have said no I’m walking and I say the same thing today. I didn’t know then that I was going to ultimately run for president. What I try to do every single day is get up, thank God for the day and say, ‘Ok, what do you want me to do?’

One of the things that’s in my mind is I need to keep my options open for a potential run which means that there are certain things you have to do to put yourself in a position at some point to be able to decide to do it. So going to Iowa for example is keeping your voice out there. I wanted my voice out there because I’m very concerned where the Republican Party is headed right now.

Santorum on GOP: You have folks on the left and on the right, the libertarian right and the moderate Republican left who are in some cases joined together certainly on one issue: on removing social issues from the core of the Republican message.

You have the moderates who don’t agree with that message and then you have the libertarians who don’t agree with it either. They think it’s up to every individual to do whatever they want to do so you come at it from both sides of the equation and that’s a danger to the country.

No wonder we don't win since we are not in agreement. Social issues are important and some of the Reps. better figure that out. If women want abortions or birth control then let them pay for it, if they say it's my choice. Your choice your responsibility to pay for it. Don't expect the tax payers to pay for your irresponsible lifestyle. You can't tell me that 50 million abortions are because of rape and incest. If they are then where are all the arrests. Women are being careless about their bodies. I know as I used to be one of them.
