Rick Perry 2.0 in 2016?

Rick Perry for President in 2016? Would you go for it? Will one, "Oops moment" doom him?

Read Dan Balz in the Washington Post today:

As he exited the presidential race last year, Texas Gov. Rick Perry uttered a memorable assessment of his performance: “It was the weakest Republican field in history, and they kicked my butt.” Yet, he might be coming back for more in 2016.

Perry’s campaign is best remembered for his one-word utterance on a Michigan debate stage in the fall of 2011: “Oops.” He could not remember the third of three federal agencies he wanted to eliminate. The meltdown was an embarrassing coda to a campaign that was already terminal by the time of this unfortunate brain lapse.

Perry announced last week that he would not seek a fourth full gubernatorial term in 2014. That surprised almost no one in Texas. He has served longer than any governor in Texas history. What does surprise many here and around the country is that his early exit from the 2012 race served only to whet his appetite for another presidential campaign.

The key for Perry is to get in early and be ready from the beginning. He admitted to me earlier this year that his biggest mistake was getting in late.

Clearly, Perry had more mistakes than that but evangelicals are definitely willing to give him a second look in a GOP Primary. Rick Perry 2.0 is possible. Look at Rick Santorum. Don't tell me there aren't second acts in politics.

The evangelicals need to wake up and face the truth. They have no more dominant influence over the republican party anymore, THE PARTY OVER. The GOP only uses them to gardner enough votes to win some elections in the pass, they never really wanted to have them center stage. The party moved on witout them and will do more in the future. No one religious group is ever going to sway that much influence again over that party. THEY WERE JUST USED PLAIN AND SIMPLE AND THEY KNOW IT.

Will there be an America in 2016? Will there instead be a Dictatorship? Are we facing the Last Days? Is time running out and we are about to see the final Bible Dispensation occur? Wake up people, the Lord is soon to come for His Bride. Find Jesus Christ now, while the Door is still open.
God Bless Israel and open their eyes.

He'll need to be strong if he runs against Hillary. We can only hope that the problem with Benghazi keeps her from running. She and the President were utterly inept on security of our embassy. To busy traveling and making the other embassies green.

Rick Perry has been a great Texan Governor and would make a great president. We need a strong, christian leader that will stand for our country. I'll vote for him!!!!

I like Rick Perry...had high hopes when he entered the race for 2012...but I don't want him to run in '16. We need someone who can clearly articulate a conservative agenda...who can convey to the "low information" voters just why they believe how they do and how it will benefit the nation. Perry is much like Bush...he's just not very good at communicating or debating. We need a Cruz/Paul or Paul/Cruz ticket...unified early on to take on Hillary...who will have the media squarely in her camp...they owe her after abandoning her for Obama's "historic" campaign in '08.

I would love to see Gov Perry run for President. To get my vote, he must, publicly, clearly state his position on "Sharia v. U.S. Constitution".
