Marco Rubio Video Exclusive: Biblical Compassion Compels Christians To Act On Immigration Reform

Senator Marco tells The Brody File that evangelical Christians have been critical to the immigration reform process saying, “I think the biggest change hasn’t been in the pulpit. It’s been in the pews.” Rubio also says biblical compassion must be on display. “Our faith has always been about compassion and it compels you to do something, Rubio says. “If you took compassion or the principle of compassion out of the Bible, it would be in tatters because it’s all over the place.”

You can watch his remarks below. The Brody File conducted this interview up on Capitol Hill.

Senator Marco Rubio: “I think the biggest change hasn’t been in the pulpit. It’s been in the pews. The folks who are attending church who maybe five years ago felt differently about this issue now they’re worshipping next to an illegal immigrant family, now they’ve met someone who’s in the circumstance so it’s one thing is when eleven million is a statistic. The other thing is when one of those eleven million is your friend, a human being you now know.”

Senator Marco Rubio: “Our faith has always been about compassion and it compels you to do something. Now, we have an obligation to be responsible to our country and not do anything that hurts America but also our faith calls us to compassion. If you took compassion or the principle of compassion out of the Bible, it would be in tatters because it’s all over the place.”

Why would Senator Marco Rubio be telling Evangelical Christians what to do? He is a Roman Catholic.

And the bible never condones stealing, which is what illegal immigrants are doing, stealing. They are taking that which is not theirs. It is no different than if someone entered your home illegally and began living there against your will. It is stealing.

Also, as a U.S. Senator, Marco Rubio is sworn to uphold the U.S. Constitution, which states that congress will protect us from foreign invasion.

Hey, Senator Rubio, try this scripture on for size, "let your yea be yea and your nay be nay." --In other words, keep your oath to uphold and defend the U.S. Constitution.

Bush and Rubio are part of the problem, not the solution. Bushes, Clintons, Obama...all on the same team. The problem with evangelicals is that they are sheep and sheep are easily led. Shame on CBN for pumping these guys up ranther than conducting responsible reporting and revealing them for the 'one-worlders' that they are. This is a ‘fluff’ piece of reporting. Challenge these imposters.

He is naught but a traitor to the Constitution. What a wishy washy person of who has become anathema to me.

And as far as Jeb Bush for President? I will NEVER vote for another Bush as long as I live.

I agree with the other commenters. I am a Floridian and the RINOs are very powerful here. Marco Rubio has been a sad disappointment. Wish he would be like Mel Martinez and leave office early. Personally, I think the illegals need to go to their own country and apply legally to immigrate. Amnesty is a bad example in that law breakers are rewarded. I remember being terrified as a college student when applying for federal money that something would be in error and I would be accused of a felony. These people just demand everything. (And get it). The politicians are aware that the people do not want amnesty. Why won't they put it to a vote? Rubio is Jeb Bush's boy; he is carrying his water on this immigration thing. They are letting La Raza write the bill. (See my post on Bush). Wish we could have a conservative party and bring back government of, by and for the people. Guess it was pretty much over for the US after legalized abortion on demand.

Marco Rubio had great expectations. Unfortunately, Karl Rove decided to take him under his wing . . . and now Rubio has had to renege on his amnesty bill, which originally was to start the process ONLY after the border was secure. He needs to disassociate with the RNC crowd and the present amnesty bill, and move forward.

The pundits who want Jeb Bush, including Karl Rove et al, have had a waning of their IQ. If anyone thinks any Bush could win anything at this point in time also has forgotten how to think. Good Grief!

The Republican National Committee is STILL on the wrong path. THEIR people weren't targeted by the IRS. Only the conservatives. Could the reason be that no one is afraid of the RINOs? But, after 2010 they ARE afraid of the Tea Party et al? Hmmm.

Now . . . how about Ben Carson or Rand Paul or Sarah Palin for President? Don't always fall for the little traps by the RNC.

GOLDWATER LOST ONLY BECAUSE THE NATION OF MOURNERS WOULD NOT VOTE AGAINST KENNEDY'S PARTY.

# RE: Marco Rubio Video Exclusive: Biblical Compassion Compels Christians To Act On Immigration Reform

Where to start. First, compassion is not at the heart of Christian life as Rubio implies. Rather, it is godly love that is at the heart of Christian life and the distinction between the two is important. The one is based on emotion, the other on doing the right thing, regardless of emotion and regardless of whether it feels good to you. But that is the point, love requires you do the right thing and helping those who have broken our national laws to continue to do so is wrong, not right.
