Obama Does Well With the Non-Church Going Crowd

Let me make this very simple.

If you attend religious service frequently then you probably voted for Mitt Romney.

If you don’t go to church that often then you probably voted for President Obama.

That’s not my analysis. That is according to the respected Pew Research Center. Read a partial excerpt below:

Stay in the know. Get The Brody File Weekly

As in other recent elections, those who attend religious services most often exhibited the strongest support for the Republican presidential candidate. Nearly six-in-ten voters who say they attend religious services at least once a week voted for Romney (59%), while 39% backed Obama. Romney received as much support from weekly churchgoers as other Republican candidates have in recent elections.

Those who say they never attend religious services were again among the strongest Democratic supporters in the presidential election. More than six-in-ten voters who say they never attend religious services voted for Obama (62%). Voters who say they attend religious services a few times a month or a few times a year also supported Obama over Romney by a 55% to 43% margin.

Is there anything left to be said? Discuss.

The full poll is here.

I think that christians voting for a man who is part of a cult is very sad. Some say well we aren't voting for a pastor. I think who we choose to be over us matters to God. If he was a worshiper of a satanic cult, would that be okay? Aren't both an abomination to God? It is written in the latter days there will be wolves in sheeps clothes...Please pray for Romney and all who are in cults to recieve the Gospel

We have Mormon senators and they have served our country well. They have not turned our country over to the Mormon church. This was the same argument that was used against JFK, that the Pope would rule in the WH. JFK won the election and the Pope did not rule in the WH. We need a man who understands business and job creation. BO won because he appears to be a rock star and popular with the Hollywood crowd. He told the people of NJ and NY they would get help. The people of Long Island are still waiting. The rich people can't save this country and pay down the deficit with the current spending that's going on in DC. God gave us King Saul because we wanted him. Seek God while he maybe found. It's going to get rougher from here on out.

Well Im a faithful church goer and I voted for President Obama, because of the hypocritical attitude I see among christians who claimed they were voting for our christian values and all the time it was apparent it was bigotry, and the demonization of our president.Romney is a blasphemer , an anti-christ spirit according to 1 john 4.

Wow Ljaye do you think you are going to make it into the kingdom of heaven with thoughts like that?? Many churchgoers re-elected the President because they know that he is a christian. This is what we know about Mormonism: http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_938881&feature=iv&src_vid=7q6brMrFw0E&v=n3BqLZ8UoZk

KelliC, you are absolutely right. Won't we ever learn that a man is known by the friends he keeps? We saw this coming. A handsome face and smile hides a very shallow, self-serving heart.

I like one comment after the election. The writer said "wicked people will get wicked leader" She or he may be right. Election is done and over. However, churches in America should start act now for the next election and the future. All must sit down under one roof and brainstorm strategies through prayers, fasting and planting seeds for the LORD to raise, prepare and anoint an American godly President for the next election including members of Senate and Congress including the future. Earnest and continuous prayers and fasting beginning now shall be one strategy. The Spirit of the LORD can guide us if sought after. For all the issues in America, this is the most important one. If American wants to keep America from falling, this is the only answer. Blessing.

According to a recent news report, the percent of those claiming to be Christians in the United States has now fallen below 50%. That goes right along with the article. Even though Christians consider the LDS Church a cult, their lifestyle reflects that they live what they believe.

Thank you God for giving President Obama for 4 more years. As far as those who do not seem to like the President please do like your bible says and make sure you pray for him everyday. :-)

he also got 70% of the Jewish vote.
I don't understand the Christians who supported Romney when he has run the most negative, deceptive and non-transparent campaign ever.

@Ljaye. That is not true, President Obama could not have won the vote if every black person in the country voted for him. African American make up between 12-14% of the population. I also know many black conservatives who are christians who would not vote for President Obama because what he believes in goes against what God approves of.

It is amazing that those who are so up in arms about President Obama, but us Christian folks do not consider that Gov. Mitt Romney is a Mormon, not a christian!!!!! So to me that is just as bad as voting for President Obama and his anti christian views. It is like the church cannot discern between right and wrong! We are in this mess we are in because the church has not did all she should do and know to do. Alot of so call christians have the same mindset as the President. He has the same mindset as the American people. The church is so worldly, that it is hard to distinguish it. Not all churches, there are some that still hold on to the truth of the Bible. Alot of people are not so concerned about the morality, but falling off the financial cliff. We about to fall off a spiritual cliff. We as the church need to repent first!!!!!

ROFLOL

Let us be clear... President Obama kicked Rodney clean out of the race for President. Rodney and his supports proved how many racists pretend to be Christians to get votes and then turn around and use fear hate and greed to keep power!!!

We'd need to remember that both presidential candidates have different belief systems. President Obama is getting more into Chrislam, which it contradicted against the words of God. As we had seen on our daily news, we see that this president is more involve with Islamic nation than protecting Israel. On the other side, Romney, who is Mormonism. Even though either candidate doesn't have Christian value, we needed to trust God whom He wanted to use to bring America back from the darkness. This would be our punishment from God.
