Mitt America Delivers in Tampa

(Reporting from inside the convention hall in Tampa)

Mitt Romney is not known for giving great speeches. That’s Barack Obama territory. But Thursday night in Tampa, on the grandest stage of all, Mitt Romney delivered in the clutch. To use a sports analogy, Mitt Romney, a candidate who is normally a singles hitter, smashed a homerun.

How did he do it? Romney kept to a theme that was very pro-America. He brought down the house with the line, “In America, we celebrate success. We don’t apologize for success.”

Throughout his speech he celebrated this country’s entrepreneurial spirit and the virtues of capitalism. In short, he was Mitt America tonight.

The line of the speech most certainly was when Romney said, “President Obama promised to slow the rise of the oceans and to heal the planet. My promise is to help you and your family."

It was a masterful stroke on so many levels. He gave the base a red meat line that got them out of their seats but far more importantly he personalized his campaign by simply stating how he wants to help your family. It was a genius line and a human moment for Mitt Romney.

Romney showed more of a human side tonight in other areas, too. He seemed to get teary eyed when talking about Ann and the young boys at home years ago. He spent a good part of his speech talking about family, love, relationships, values and parenting. You could make the argument that he gave more time to those themes than to public policy. It was smart for him to do that. He needed to do that.

The Brody File also thought Romney served himself well by highlighting the importance of women who he chose to serve with him in government. He highlighted strong women governors but we enjoyed the part when he said the following:

“When my mom ran for the Senate, my dad was there for her every step of the way. I can still hear her saying in her beautiful voice, “Why should women have any less say than men about the great decisions facing our nation?”

The line received a standing ovation.

Mitt Romney has always looked like a president. Tonight he sounded like one, too.

Amen, Mitt gave a wonderful speech. He showed that he wasn't a woman hater.

Is it too late for the GOP to nominate "empty chair?"

Yep ... Mitt "knocked it out of the park".
Now if he will just remember what he said, and keep to those things when he gets elected. That is IF (big IF) Obama's "grave-yard" voters, "pet" voters, and "multiple-times" voters don't steal the election.
And .... They SHOULD count our votes here in Tennessee too ... and not just what the folks in Ohio and Florida want. We are part of the USA too, and pay those too high taxes like everybody else.

How strange it is that a once 'Christian' nation has so fell asleep and out of the will of God that its devolved to a point where as President, we have the choice between 2 false religion cults, Islam and Mormonism, and both persons picked and controlled by the same Bankers and World Elete. Is anyone else awake enough to see the irony of this?? IMO, If every American Christian was Man or Woman enough to put their faith where their mouth is, they would by-cott the vote for both of these false choices. And organizations like CBN here, would be calling for mass, loud (but peacefull) demostrations on election day. Instead, CBN is all but telling Christian Americans to vote for a cult following person like Romney. Im not voting for EITHER of these Puppet Presidential candidates. www.infowars.com

Do we limit God? When God can change the heart of Kings, like He changes the direction of the rivers. Nothing is to big for our God...Jesus is Lord! We must keep our eyes on Him...not men.

You know Luke, both Muslims and the LDS Church are not cults. You use the word too freely. Mitt does follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. No one has the corner on Christianity, not even you. The LDS church follows the Bible and the Book of Mormon is latter day scripture. True Christians don't bash other religions. You will be surprised when people who don't believe the way you do are in Heaven. Repent now. Mitt is an excellent choice. When has religion ever been a deciding factor in any bill or legislature? Vote for Mitt.
