Mitt Romney ventured in to hostile territory when he spoke at the NAACP the other day and of course he received plenty of boos when he said how he’d repeal Obamacare.
Let’s be clear: Romney is no dummy. He knew that line would get jeered but he also knew the visual on the nightly newscasts of him getting smacked down at the NAACP would go over very well with the conservative base.
Look, I’m not the most cynical guy in the world but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what Romney was doing. Guess what? It worked.
I’m not saying Romney isn't genuine in his belief that he wants to repeal Obamacare, but c’mon. He knew the reception would be negative but he didn’t care because it makes him look like he has the courage of the cowardly lion after he received his medal from the Wizard of Oz.
By the way, Mitt Romney mentioning his opposition to Obamacare at an NAACP event is like President Obama going to CPAC and criticizing free markets.
