Gingrich's Long Haul

So if you were Newt Gingrich why wouldn’t you stay in the race? What’s your incentive to get out?

Party unity? The GOP establishment hates him. A position in the Romney administration? Right. He’ll be standing by the phone. Unite so the GOP can defeat Barack Obama? That doesn’t make sense to do so at this point since Romney still needs another thousand delegates or so. Plus if Gingrich can somehow stay focused and relevant through March 6 (Super Tuesday), he has a decent shot at winning a bunch of delegates.

Stay in the know. Get The Brody File Weekly:

Also, don’t forget if he can convince Santorum to get out, the complexion of the race changes, as will the sheer numbers of the political GOP pie.

A couple other factors to consider: Gingrich is 68 years old and has already been Speaker of the House. What does he have to lose? Absolutely nothing.

Lastly, if Gingrich really does feel that Romney is a “Massachusetts moderate,” then just based on principle alone it makes sense to stay in the race because he truly believes he is the conservative alternative. Why concede that principled stance with such a long way to go?

What is it with you and gingrich John? he is a lying, womanizing swine. Forgetting about his horrendous legislative resume, he is the piece of crap that divorced a woman on her death bed, dying of cnacer. He couldn't have waited before his next (legal?) assignation could he? The neocon presswas all over Clinton for having oral sex in the white house, but the last time I looked he was still married to the same woman. Knock it off with this garbage about a "new" or a "different" newt gingrich, he is the same piece of crap he always was and it is an affront to our political system to let this swine campaign for the presidency of this nation.

The GOP establishment has decided but we the people have not. Romney has lots of money and that's what they are looking at. A person should not be able to buy an election. If they would take the money they are spending on negative adds and apply it to the National debt that would speak louder than the adds would.

Mr BRODY...I dont really care if you dont post this comment as long as you read it and hopefully it will wake you up. Its so sad that your reporting against some candidates ie... RON PAUL is identical to leftest, often anti Christian news sites like CNN,and your reporting on Romney and Gindrich is also identical. No wonder Christians in this Nation are as Sheepish and in the dark as non Christians. Theres NO differance in the Propaganda you all choose to spread. Sad. God help this Nation if the likes of Gindrich,an Obama mirror image in his policies and ideals, gets voted in. And we'll all have news services like CBN to thank.

I hope Newt does stay in! Keep the party fractured, plus he's going to want revenge on RMoney, which helps save the Dems lots of money

In the end the left is going to support Obama and the right is going to support Romney. Neither group has a choice because they detest the other side so much. For the Obama faction, we can only hope that the economy continues to improve.

Newt says his finding faith in the Catholic Church with Callista and his age has changed him, he is a new man...this is a more mature responsible Newt, the doting grandfather. If the campaign rhetoric is any indication of the new Newt then it does not appear he has changed much from the name calling school yard bully from his days in Congress. He has not changed from the scorched earth politics of his days in Congress.
Newt sold evangelicals and fundamentalist of this change so they forgave him for his serial adultry as a born again man..seems they have been fooled.

The narrowist description of evangilical is pro-life, pro-marriage, and being willing to spread the gospel. Following the U.S. Constututuon, the rights that are guaranteed in the constutution; where the issues of size of government, spending are more diverse and immigration are more diverse.

Both Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney are berret than the current President. Newt's personal problems do not show him in the best light. Romney is fighting against Romnney care, and posittion on gun control. The question is what is the propper size and roll of government.

My preferences are now gone, so I support Newt, based on previouse record and writings. One can almost say the current administration is anti everything this country was founded on.

The power has to rest with a new congress, who will represnt the people, and force the President to follow the Constitution.

# RE: Gingrich's Long Haul

We have collectively compromised our Christian values and principles for so long that with our hard hearts we actually permit ourselves to seriously consider Romney and Gingrich for president. And you, Mr. Brody, fail to give enough attention to the one man in the lot who has proven himself for years to not compromise himself or his Christian principles while serving in Federal office: Ron Paul. And, he adores his wife to boot! He doesn't bow down to special interest groups. He believes in the constitution on which Christian forefathers founded America, and he believes that we had no business changing it to suit our selfish whims. He definitely doesn't fit in with the other candidates who have catered to special interest groups that have done much to harm American government and families. Is that why the media and the other candidates seem to ignore him so much and look the other way? Are we ready for a man of proven good character to lead us and set an example for others to follow?
