Bachmann Blasts Ron Paul: 'Of Course I Don't Hate Muslims'

Ron Paul says Michele Bachmann “hates Muslims.” He’s kidding, right? That was supposed to be a joke? Hilarious (thud).

He sounded pretty serious to me. The statement he made to Jay Leno has just made The Brody File’s Golden Globe nominations for Kookiest Statement Of The Year. Read an excerpt from ABC News below and view the clip. After that, read more Brody File analysis:

When asked by host Jay Leno what he thought of his rivals, Paul shook his head, slowed his voice and said, “she doesn’t like Muslims, she hates them, she wants to go get ‘em” — in reference to the comments Bachmann has made on the campaign trail over her willingness to attack Iran over its suspected nuclear program.

Bachmann, who is campaigning today in Iowa, rejected Paul’s comments.

“Of course I don’t hate Muslims,” Bachmann told ABC News, adding “that’s an absolutely outrageous statement.”

Ron Paul has said some pretty outrageous things himself when it comes to America’s foreign policy, so in a way it may not be too surprising that he went there.

Seems to me that Ron Paul sees Bachmann as a major threat in Iowa and wanted to send a knockout blow on national television. Or maybe he just inhaled too much smog in Los Angeles.

Either way, that comment made him look extreme in his language. If anything, Bachmann has proved herself to be top-tier material based on her very good debate performances and the ability to stay on message.

Seems to me Ron Paul's comments on foreign policy are much more well thought out than many Republicans are giving him credit for.

Remember when G.W. Bush refused to Back Israel's request to bomb Iran's nuclear facilities (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/sep/25/iran.israelandthepalestinians1)?

GW cited the threat of Blowback (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blowback)as a reason for not backing Israel. Scary that even GW showed more restraint than any of the Republican candidates on that stage Thursday night (other than Ron Paul).

As Christians, we should be wary of starting aggressive wars that break the 5th Commandment, Thou Shalt Not Kill.

If you are an independent thinker and are willing to at least try and attempt to understand where Ron Paul is coming from, you could start by watching this short video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8NhRPo0WAo

I love Michele Bachmann she is so ironic and funny, I'm really going to miss her for a few minutes when she is gone.

MB says she doesn't hate members of the other Abrahamic religion ( that is not Judeo based), but rather she loves the American people

I could have sworn that the US has a large contingency of the followers of the other Abrahamic faith and that most are American citizens

Is MB implying that the only true Americans are those who allegedly follow the teachings of the Torah Read More... or the Bible?

If her statement is taken at face value, then the unspoken message supports Paul's assertion.

Who else is excluded from MB's narrow definition of what constitutes an American?

Once again, she demonstrates why SHE is not ready for the presidency. A true leader must be able to lead all of his/her people and respect as well as protect the rights of those who may differ in ideology, ethnicity and/or religion.

Haters is such a high school terminology brought out by that Sarah palin. By referring to Iran's President as a 'hater', I can see him and every other hard core dictatotor out there practically lick their lips saying please, please, elect her... we'll play nice.

I tend to think that for politicians like Michele Bachmann, being accused of hating Muslims would actually be a compliment of sorts since this label of being anti-Islam would certainly resonate with a lot of her supporters.

Her seeming nonchalant response to this accusation of her being a Muslim-hater does appear to confirm this.

Holy Warmongers on a Christian Website, nonetheless. One man 'outrageosly' speaking for peace, another person fighting for war.
WHich do you side with? War. Nice job.

The gdurham File’s Golden Globe nominations for WARMONGER Statement Of The Year goes to this loser, David Brody.

It is amazing how the author cannot actually explain why Ron Paul is wrong, that's because he can't. All he can do is call names like kooky, and then tell you to send your children to war.

The author doesn't care about the innocent people we kill with drones and bombs.
He doesn't worry that we will go bankrupt as the result of policing the world, then we will not be able to defend ourselves at all.

He doesn't care that our current foriegn policy is un-constitutional. Does he support Water-boarding too? Probably.

This is the end of the game for you warmonger types in the GOP. The game is up. The young GOP'ers can spot your hypocicy a mile away. We will put a stop to your wars, like it or not!

I don't think Ron Paul said that because he considered her a threat. I think he said it because it was a lightening round and when her name was said, he fumbled, thinking back to their exchange on Iran the night before. He was clearly conflicted about where she was coming from. However, I suspect he wouldn't say 'hate' if he had it to do over.

# RE: Bachmann Blasts Ron Paul: "Of Course I Don't Hate Muslims"

I have been watching this primary contest, and the debates, very closely. I, too, am a Christian. In the bible, especially in Ezekial 38, there is an alignment of nations against Israel that is so in line with today's news. God Himself defends Israel to show He is their God, and bring about revival. God doesn't need us to defend Israel. He is in control. Benjamin Netanyahu, in his speach to the senate recently, said they don't need us to defend Israel. Isn't it quite disrespectful not to believe him? I think when one wants to invade a country on heresay, especially when they've sent us to war in Iraq on misinformation, that is not "loving your enemies". She also believes in torture. That also doesn't fall in line with the love we are supposed to show our enemies. People like Mrs. Bachman have given Christians a reputation for being hatemongers, which makes it very hard to lead others to the Lord. The bible says they (the world) will know we are Christians by our love. Ron Paul b

I don't hate muslims either. I hate that they are teaching their children 'jihad' and to murder jews and christians. I hate that they practice 'tekea'...to intentionally lie to advantage themselves over others. I hate that the 'silent muslims' just sit by while the violent muslims run their lives...I hate that they want to do the same to the USA. I hate what they have done in Sweden, Norway, Belgium, Germany, England, Micro-nesia, and everywhere else they have migrated to.....but I don't hate 'muslims'....It's their 'god' who has taught them to murder.

If anyone is nuts it is the leader of Iran. The Congresswoman is interested in keep the world safe from men like them. You don't hate have to hate Muslims to want to protect people who are radical from destroying the USA or Israel.
