Michele Bachmann Says no to Trump Moderated Debate

Michele Bachmann’s campaign tells The Brody File that she will NOT attend the Newsmax debate moderated by Donald Trump on Dec. 27. Mitt Romney, Rick Perry, Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman have also declined.

That leaves Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum as the only ones who have said they will attend. A Lincoln/Douglas debate anyone?

Bachmann is mightily busy in Iowa where she must pull off a top three finish to remain viable. The Brody File has said that Bachmann’s organizational strength among pastors and homeschoolers gives her the real shot at doing very well in Iowa.

In addition, some new polling by Public Policy Polling shows her picking up steam. Herman Cain’s exit from the race has helped her so anyone counting her out would be making a big mistake. Plus, don’t forget more than 60 percent of Iowa voters haven’t decided who they’re voting for yet.

With voters feeling lukewarm toward Romney and with Newt Gingrich’s tendency to shoot himself in the foot, Bachmann merrily travels around the country positioning herself as the real conservative in the race.

Both Romney and Gingrich have issues in that regard. Bachmann does not. Watch out for her come January.

Unfortunately the candidates seem to be buckling under pressure from media and legacy old school Republicans.

I welcome Donald Trump an opportunity to ask questions. Corporate leaders understand the P.E.S.T.E.L. analysis and various economic business models.

Press pundits are typically looking for the headline and gotcha moment.

Ron Paul 2012. Bachman has very little chance of finishing top 3 in Iowa, sorry honey its not happening. Poor old trump will only have to puppets to string along on live television, I am sure Newt is happy about this, no one to challenge him this time. Can't wait to watch him stick his foot all the way into his mouth.

Mitt Romney is the Thomas Dewey of this year's election cycle. Walter Lippmann said that Dewey "changes his views from hour to hour... always more concerned with taking the popular position than he is in dealing with the real issues." Sound familiar?

Dewey was a liberal northeastern governor, and the favored candidate of the Republican establishment. They believed he was the candidate who could unseat the deeply unpopular Truman, but the public found Dewey to be stiff, awkward, patrician, and coiffed. Dewey was supposed to be a "safe" non-confrontational candidate, who would just hang back and wait for his inauguration. But this gave Truman the opening to instead run against congress. Which is exactly the same strategy 0bama is planning to take. Newt Gingrich will ensure that 0bama cannot pull a Truman upset.

This is why 0bama is trying to project the race as already being Romney vs. 0bama, and why they are deathly afraid of Newt. And as usual, the GOP establishment is clueless.

Good for her! She just made my list of possible candidates! I crossed off Newt -was top on list-because of his relationship with Donald Trump. I don't want my President on celebrity couches. i'll be reading her website again tonight.

I am very pleased that Michele declined the last minute Trump debate. She has more critical things ot do as she is on a roll and needs the personal touch with the voters late Decemeber in Iowa before the Jan 3 caucuses.

Rick Perry actually made a wise decision for a change since Gingrich set a whole new (low) level of expectatio ns for future Apprentice 's by doing everything but having Trump's baby prior to talking him into hosting this Faux debate. The fact that the GOP is having this debate lead by such a huge joke as Trump and that he is considered a person of respect among republican s is mind boggling.good for Bachman, let the Grinch debate himself!

Bachmann, Perry and Paul along with Romney are losers. Truthfully I beleive that they are affraid because they may have to answer hard questions for a change. This is not about Trump being a moderator. Well I would not vote for any of these four now.

In my considered opinion, Ron Paul and Michelle Bachmann or vice versa are the best for the US and the world. And she is right; Trump is NOT a leader, he is just a thug and a money-maker. So why demeen herself? Go for it, Michelle you servant of the Lord.

Pretty simple, Newt is by far the best debater, when the others have the chance to avoid debating him, they will take any excuse.

By any measure, Donald Trump is more intelligent, successful and interesting than ANY of the other moderators in ANY of the other debates.

You don't debate the moderator anyway. By checking out en masse, the other candidates show how afraid they are of not only Newt, but Trump. If they are afraid of this situation they are not capable of being President.

I am as conservative as they come, and I am NOT interested in Michelle Bachman-she may be a great woman but not for POTUS-her fruit includes neever have been able to keep a staff together for more than a few months-this speaks volumes-not to mention her undermining of every other GOP candidate-in a whiney complaining manner-she has not held herself with the authority that a statemans-or stateswomen could.

I would pick SARAH PALIN over any other person, I also would vote for MIKE HUCKABEE, DONALD TRUMP, NEWT GINGRICH, & possibly Rick Santorum.

Not interested in Romney, Bachman and the gay rumors that have surround Rick Perry for years, and his validated assoc. as a major shareholder w/a pornography company (beleive that is on a Colorado Conservatives website or Colorado Conservatives for Palin-not sure-but this story is not undocumented-even in Texas publications)make me see him as a truly deceptive candidate.Gingrich would not have beenmy1stPICK-his strength, passion, wisdom work

It is about time that a debate is outside the establishment, media, and stupid pundents. If there are only two then so be it.

I am sick of the GOP parading out the same old retreads running for President. Michele Bachmann brings a fresh face and approach, and is clearly the only real conservative in the line up. The left hates her, the media hates her (bravo CBM!), and the Treason Lobby is terrified of her. I've not been so sure of someone for a very long time.

Michele Bachmann, I think it would be a mistake to not attend the Trump debate. Do not be lumped in with Ron Paul and Romney. Be better than that. Use every opportunity to get your point across.

# RE: Michele Bachmann Says no to Trump Moderated Debate

After the three-ring-circus debates with liberal moderators, why decline a debate moderated by Donald Trump? You would think these candidates would jump at the chance to field questions from someone that has a more similar philosophy to theirs than the far-left liberals.

This whole "debate" every other night debacle has not helped the candidates get coherent messages out, rather they have been thrown gotcha questions by the liberals and been cut off by the time clock. What a mess.

# RE: Michele Bachmann Says no to Trump Moderated Debate

There isn't a venue big enough for Trump's and Newt's egos. IMO, this debate was a marketing ploy for Trump's new book...it's all about him..and, of course, Newt was right there in the spotlight with the Donald, when the announcement was made. It's doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure those two out. As a conservative christian, I'm appalled that Newt is the supposed current frontrunner. HIs own party called him a 'sociopath'..doesn't anyone recall his political history?? It was one scandal after another, political and personal. The Republicans threw him out as speaker because he was incapable of leading. His mother was a manic-depressive..I'm wondering if his disorganization is a symptom of that. I highly recommend reading the following interview by Newt's ex-wife Marianne..she provides much needed insight regarding how Newt operates..I found it troubling. Newt is definitely not conservative..

I know not the true intentions of these candidates except for Ron Paul. He does not attend because giving credence to a glitter TV personality is as dangerous as giving the nation mind control drugs. People are TV saps. The two remaining candidates will spend most of their time debating the best way to start another war with Trump deciding who should get that job. The saps will agree with the verdict. Wake up! Ron Paul is the best for all of us.

Thank you Bachmann for not lowering yourself to be a part of Trump's show. Trump is all about Trump, not the country. He is not a conservative leader and people need to stop taking him seriously!
