In an interview with The Brody File over the weekend in Des Moines, Iowa, co-frontrunner Newt Gingrich says Mitt Romney should be careful about going negative on him because as he tells me, “There's no evidence that shows that reaching out and putting his hand on Rick Perry's shoulder did him any good.”
He went on to compare Romney and Perry as, “two guys behaving like 7th graders in a recess fight.”

Let's be clear why Newt is resonating across the country. Republican Primary voters have an appetite to not only beat President Obama but also humiliate him. The sight of Gingrich's bravado taking on Obama's hubris is tantalizing for many. Gingrich’s ability to show intellectual debt through these debates is winning the day right now.
Mitt Romney has intellectual debt too but he may bring a Power Point demonstration into his debates with President Obama. Gingrich will bring no notes and a lot of in your face attitude. His passion and inability to deal with political correctness is feeding this surge.

David Brody: You have taken the high road in all of these debates, but now your co-front runner, the Romney campaign might start, Mitt Romney might start to say things against you. What do you do with that?
Newt Gingrich: You relax, and know that it's hurting him. There's no evidence that shows that reaching out and putting his hand on Rick Perry's shoulder did him any good. There's no evidence that those two guys behaving like 7th graders in a recess fight did them any good.
