Newt Gingrich to Brody File: Republican politicians 'don't rely enough on actually knowing things'

Newt Gingrich is a serious contender for the GOP presidential nomination. The Brody File is releasing more clips of my interview with Newt Gingrich done in Iowa late last month.

Watch my story that aired nationwide this morning on "The 700 Club." The interview transcriptions are below.

David Brody: It seems like you're the realist up there, someone who is going to just say what needs to be said.

Newt Gingrich: Well, maybe I'm a realistic idealist. Nobody in Washington would tell you what I'm describing is realistic... None of this is new. I participated with Reagan and I participated as speaker of the House. I've got a pretty good sense of how real this is and how this could be done.

One of the Republican weaknesses is that we rely too much on consultants and too much on talking points, and we don't rely enough on actually knowing things. If you're going to lead the country and change history, you better know a heck of a lot before you start because there's not much time for learning on the job. As Obama has proven -- youth and inexperience are interesting, but they can also be a disaster.

If we who loves Christ, who loves us all, pick any more war hawks, what does that say about what the Bible teaches us?I say throw the Bible in the trash if we are going to pick anymore warmongerers. Is the Bible and the Constitution "out of date"?I think not!Blessed are the PEACEMAKERS.Amen.

I am listening and watching Mr. Gingrich. He is the only candidate that to this point has "stayed the course" and been "on target" by telling what he would do instead of attacking the other Republican candidates and their programs. He is worth considering but only time will tell how the people will take to him. I believe every president would prefer their term in office to be marked by peace not war, but war is inevitable sometimes. Therefore, the country must have someone who will lead with conscience, clarity, a goal of winning and disarming the enemy, and the ability to restore order and peace. God gave the battle plans to win to Gideon, to Joshua, and to others for victory. God has sent His heavenly angels to surround Israel's enemies and defeat them. Does this make God a warmonger? I think not, but it does show that God is a God of rightousness and justice, and He will fight for His people.

All right Newt. I concede your point here. Sometimes it just plays your way and not gets played your way. Maybe this is one of those times....I hope so because this next presidency will be the last if it is the wrong president. There is no more time. What's come has come.

A master at saying what the people want to hear! He says he realizes he made some mistakes and did some bad tings in his past but he has reformed.
But; in spite of his declaration of reforming he was again caught lying during the Presidential debates. He was asked about his association with Fanny May and another organization that was drafting a National Health Care plan; he denied any association with either one. He was pushed and questioned until he finally admitted that he did in fact work with Fanny May as a historian and that he had helped draft a National Health Care Plan.

If that is not lying I don't know what to call it. It shows regardless of what he says he has done to change his ways it isn't working. The Man is a habitual lair; exceptionally good at saying what the people want to hear but falling short of being honest!

There is always hope that a people and a nation will see "THE LIGHT" that some are allowing to shine through themselves as persons in positions of authority and notoriety.
In this season of Thanksgiving, I am thankful for all of them. As you can read below, GOD already knew all there was to know about us humans!

<< Proverbs 29 >>
New Living Translation (1996) Holy Bible

1Whoever stubbornly refuses to accept criticism
will suddenly be destroyed beyond recovery.
2When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice.
But when the wicked are in power, they groan.
3The man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father,
but if he hangs around with prostitutes, his wealth is wasted.

10The bloodthirsty hate blameless people,
but the upright seek to help them.
11Fools vent their anger,
but the wise quietly hold it back.
12If a ruler pays attention to liars,
all his advisers will be wicked.

16When the wicked are in authority, sin flourishes,
but the godly will live to see their downfall.
