Only on Brody File: New Hampshire Conservative Kingmaker Says Bachmann 'could catch fire' in Granite State

Michele Bachmann is getting strong praise from an influential conservative in New Hampshire.

Ovide Lamontagne, the man who holds the most sought after endorsement in New Hampshire for these GOP presidential candidates, tells The Brody File that he believes Michele Bachmann “could catch fire here in New Hampshire.”

Lamontagne has been hosting house parties for the candidates. He is expected to make his endorsement announcement sometime in the fall.

Watch the video below and read the transcription below:

Ovide Lamontagne: I’ve had a chance to meet Michele Bachmann. She is bright. She’s funny. She’s got charisma. She’s a conservative movement activist and leader. She’s been at the grassroots when she wasn’t an office holder so she knows how to connect with people. I think she actually could catch fire here in New Hampshire.”

The Brody File chuckles as we watch the media go though the phase of, “Wow, Bachmann is actually smarter than we thought.” Duh. Join the party. The Brody File has been saying this for awhile now. The media is simply playing catch up.

Here is what I said about her back in February:

February 18,2011: Let’s be clear here. If Bachmann gets in, she will be a force. I’m not saying she’ll win the nomination but she will shake things up. She always seems to be underestimated, especially by the media.

But remember, this is an extremely smart woman (check the resume) and she speaks in clear, non-rambling sentences. She communicates well and can raise money.”

Folks, if you think Bachmann doesn’t have a path to the nomination think again. Win Iowa? Definitely could happen. Top 4 in New Hampshire? Doable. Win South Carolina? Defintely could happen. Play well in Florida? Sure. (Hang out in the panhandle and turn out the vote and cruise I-4 corridor)

Then the southern states? Absolutely. The conventional thinking is that Romney would welcome a final one-on-one battle with Bachmann. Be careful what you wish for.

# RE: Only on Brody File: New Hampshire Conservative Kingmaker Says Bachmann 'could catch fire' in Granite State

Great assessment by an obviously intelligent man. Following Michele Bachmann for a while now (and becoming an official member of the Tea Party, which she heads), I was extremely happy to see her announce her candidacy for President, believing for some time that because of her strong moral character as based upon solid biblical principles, she would make an excellent U.S. President, now planning to vote for her in the primary. Whether she wins the nomination or not, I'll vote for any Republican running against King Barack and his traitorous anti-American, anti-Israeli agenda. "Bachmann for President in 2012!"
