President Obama Turns Back on Traditional Marriage Law

So much for moving to the center.

We’re supposed to believe he’s moving there but he may not want to trot out the story below when he campaigns for the presidency in 2012. From The Washington Post:

In a major policy reversal, the Obama administration said Wednesday that it will no longer defend the constitutionality of a federal law banning recognition of same-sex marriage.

Attorney General Eric Holder said President Barack Obama has concluded that the administration cannot defend the federal law that defines marriage as only between a man and a woman. He noted that the congressional debate during passage of the Defense of Marriage Act "contains numerous expressions reflecting moral disapproval of gays and lesbians and their intimate and family relationships - precisely the kind of stereotype-based thinking and animus the (Constitution's)Equal Protection Clause is designed to guard against."

News flash: Same-sex marriage is NOT in the ideological center of this country. The President is in left field on this one.

Hi David, if you take a look at Pollingreport.com's roundup of nonpartisan opinion research, you'll see that support for same-sex marriage is a mainstream position rather than "in left field."

I'm assuming it comes down to one thing. What does the Constitution say about same sex marriage,is it in left field too? I'm not for it either,but we'll grab at anything to see he's not reelected.Has the right wing base found a candidate yet?

Polls show that somewhere between 37 and 52 percent of Americans support same-sex marriage. So, either it's not a "Left Wing" position or the "Left Wing" is equal to or greater in size than the "ideological center."

The president thinks he is king. There is only one king, our Lord and Saviour, and He said marriage is between one man and one woman. End of story.

Mr. Obama, I sincerely pray that you will meet THE REAL GOD; THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC AND JACOB; THE GOD THAT SENT HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON INTO THIS WORLD TO TAKE UPON HIMSELF ALL SICKNESSES, DISEASES AND THE SINS OF THE WORLD SO THAT EVERY PERSON THAT WOULD EVER LIVE AFTER HIM COULD CHOOSE TO ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST AS THEIR LORD AND SAVIOUR. What if God created Gays to test your Christian beliefs of tolerance and Judge not lest you be judged? Personally I don't think very many who claim to be Christians would pass God's rules of Christian behavior.

God did not create the Gays, he created his children and through sin, Satan created the gays. God clearly states how he feels about homosexuality...New Living Translation (©2007)

As for many of us Christians not passing God's rules of Christian behavior, Romans 3:23 states clearly..."for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." there is no perfect Christian but because of God's love for us, we are forgiven for when we mess up. PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!
