President Obama's Church News

So President Obama went to church this past Sunday. Excellent but here’s the thing:

The other day I got a call from CNN because they wanted to interview me about the fact that President Obama went to church.

Look, here’s the deal. It’s never good news for President Obama when we the media are STILL doing stories about the fact that he’s actually going to church! This will no longer cease to be a big deal for him when the media stops doing the “President went to church” story!  They do these stories because it’s a pretty rare event.

However let me just say a few things. Is it important to go to church? Absolutely. But God is not taking church attendance records like a 4th grade teacher. With God it’s always about the heart. Only God knows President Obama’s heart and only God knows mine as well.

Thank You for writing this. It has been bothering me for quite some time. Considering the President's record of voting for abortion and late term abortion, I wondered if him going to church was just an effort to reach out to the Christian community, so that he may be viewed as a Christian, just in time for the elections. Only God knows his heart. I will pray about this. Blessings.

Just curious, Mr. Brody, what did you think of the Presidents speech in Tucson? Since you commented on how well you liked Palin's,I think it would be interesting to hear your take on Obama's. Also what is your opinion on Reagan, who rarely attended church in DC. For that matter, Bush didn't either.

# RE: President Obama's Church News

"Man looks on the outward appearance but God looks on the heart" (1 Sam. 16:7) about God's choice of David to replace King Saul. (1 Sam 15)
Saul was appealing physically but prideful, dishonest and disobedient to God. David was true and humble, with a heart after God first.

"By their fruits ye shall know them" and "we are judged by the words of our mouth"...we are required to be discerning as to what we come in agreement with and what we place above/before God's approval.

How did each of these persons others have listed in these comments live and speak their committment to and understanding of the Word of God and the person of Jesus Christ?

Pray for others, know that God knows the heart but also know the Saviour/Lord and Word revealed by God's Spirit so as not to be deceived by human alegiance/evaluation and honour in place of/in preference above God.

Traditions of Pharisees or a pure heart to worship God in Spirit and Truth!
