Brody File Video: Mitt Romney Healthcare Plan Rebuked by Tea Party Express Chairwoman

On this week's edition of The Brody File Show, Tea Party Express Chairwoman Amy Kremer says a Mitt Romney presidential bid will run into major trouble with the Tea Party because of the healthcare plan he put in to place as governor of Massachusetts.

Watch the clip below:

Transcription below:

David Brody/Brody File Host: On the Massachusetts healthcare situation, you'e going to tell me that's going to fly in the Tea Party movement?

Amy Kremer/Tea Party Express Chairwoman: Absolutely not. I'm being honest here. You can't get away from that, that's the thing - the days of people being able to do one thing in their state in front of a microphone, and then going to Washington and doing something else. The Internet, and 24-hour news cycles changed it all, and these people don't have short memories, they're digging up everything from the past, and they're not going to let go of the health care.

Why am I not surprised that CBN is the first to gleefully run with this hostility towards Romney. Mitt Romney is a CONSERVATIVE who has more than proven his ability to be president. God will not stand with a movement or a nation that excludes good people because of their faith. The Tea Parties days are numbered if they alienate Mormons.

Sorry, but I don't trust Romney enough to vote for him. I see him as a pragmatist willing to compromise principles to achieve whatever end he is seeking at the moment.
I want someone who instinctively and deliberately knows and follows Conservative and Constitutional Principles and someone who can defend and propagate them. That does not describe Romney. His religion never was considered in my decision.

Im a mormon and I wouldnt vote for Romney, so speak for yourself "american first". You need to be more informed instead of blindly supporting "mormons". You probably would have voted for harry Reid too!
Romney gave Ma. Romney Care before Obama did with the same unconstitutional provision and its been a disaster in Ma. ! He also gave us Homosexual Marraiges ! the Ma supreme ct. ordered the Ma legislature to rewrite the law and they refused to act so Romney on his own did it by Governor executive order, also state unconstitutional( the legis. makes the laws) and once Ma fell then it began the domino effect nationwide, all thanks to Romney. I will vote 3rd party if he gets the Rep. nomination.

While I admire her tenaciousness I have to argue that States have the Right to do what Romney did. I don't agree with it, but it's their Right.

What I don't agree with is FEDERAL control over States Rights. And, by the way, I don't approve of the Tea Party Express trying to assume that same behavior even though I support the Tea Party in general.

This seems to be the problem with "power", it acts like an intoxicant and makes people think 'they' have power.
"Power" is only what others will support or allow you to get away with. It isn't a club that 'you' wield. Grow up. If you are going to be a "leader" then act like one.

dazle1, the point of this attack has nothing to do with what Romney would do as President and everything to do with what he did as Governor of the most Liberal state in the Union. His "sins" have been blown up and overplayed. Why doesnt the Tea Party Express call out Huckabees leniency on murderers in Arkansas and his moderate to liberal positions as Governor of Arkansas? You can't name one person that might be on the Republican ticket that doesn't have a liberal record or who hasn't just quit in the middle of their term. This is simply sniping at a person that some people don't like because of who he is...don't be so naive.

I am a Massachusetts resident: I saw what Mr. Romney did here while governor. "dazle 1" (above) is absolutely correct; Mr. Romney took it on himself to order the city clerks to issue marriage licenses to same-gender couples.

Generally, Mormons are highly regarded for their standards, good citizenship, excellent behavior. I, for one, would not refuse to vote for a Mormon because of his (or her) religious beliefs, even though, as a conservative evangelical I strongly disagree with Mormon doctrine.

But I will never vote for Mr. Romney because he took it on himself to order "gay" marriages to take place in Massachusetts. There was no law passed by the legislature, there was no court order requiring it, there was only Mr. Romney's decision to unilaterally order it.

There is no excuse for what Mr. Romney did. "American First" is wrong; what Mr. Romney did as governor gives us a pretty clear idea of what kind of president he would be, one who will say or do most anything for votes.

These "Christian" simpleton groups as opposed to "Mormon" groups, never want to get into the details of "Romney Care" do they? For example, they can never explain why the Mass bill was less than 50 pages and the Federal version was over 3000 pages but yet they are the "same". Let's be real about this. The only hope of "repealing" Obamacare is for these simpleton Romney haters (ok lets be honest- Mormon haters) to address the issues instead of coming up with bumper stickers. America wants to hear the problems and solutions, not just a bunch of slogans. It is also curious that the Mass Democrats gave Romney an F (failed 20 out of 21 or so) Democrat platform objectives. Meaning he was a perfect conservative and too conservative for Massachussets, but yet the Christian Media want to push him aside in favor of whatever Fox News pundit they can find. Whether it be Palin with her gambling horse, and vanity, or whatever. Really Christian. For sure.
