In an exclusive interview, The Brody File talked to Mike Huckabee backstage at today's FRC Action Value Voters Summit
Watch some clips of the interview below.Transcriptions provided as well.
On Karl Rove's comments about Christine O'Donnell:
David Brody: “We saw with Karl Rove's comments this week about Christine O'Donnell we are seeing practical vs. principle. Not that Karl Rove doesn't have principles obviously but sometimes winning elections matter."
Mike Huckabee: "Well, this is kind of music to my ears because all through the presidential run when I was engaged in it two years ago what I constantly came up against was sort of the elitism of the Republican establishment, the snooty down their nose gee you're not properly pedigreed you didn't go to Harvard or Yale. You went to a Christian college and you didn't run with the cocktail crowd in Manhattan. Well you know what? I think the greatest thing that's happening in regards to the Tea Party is that it’s reminding the rest of America that ordinary people can make a dramatic difference in this country."
On 2012 Presidential race:
David Brody: “What sign should people look for if you were potentially interested in getting involved in 2012? What's the sign?”
Mike Huckabee: “Well, really the sign is not going to be even on my radar screen until after the 2012 elections. I do think that getting Congress back is right now a lot more important than getting The White House back because if we can get Congress turned around it doesn't matter how radical Barack Obama is. He won't be able to get it passed."
Mike Huckabee: "We'll see how it shakes out but nothing's off the table but no decision has been made and that's the honest answer."
On a hypothetical arm wrestling match between Jim DeMint and Mitch McConnell:
David Brody: “Arm wrestling: Who would win? DeMint or McConnell?”
Mike Huckabee: "I would just buy a ticket and make a pay-per-view and get the proceeds and donate it to good conservative candidates."
