Newt Gingrich: Proposed Ground Zero Mosque is Religious "Double Standard"

If Newt Gingrich decides to run for President, chalk the following commentary that he just posted in the "feather in his cap" category. It will go a long way with Evangelicals. Newt is speaking out boldly on these plans for a mosque near Ground Zero in NYC. Read below.

There should be no mosque near Ground Zero in New York so long as there are no churches or synagogues in Saudi Arabia. The time for double standards that allow Islamists to behave aggressively toward us while they demand our weakness and submission is over.

The proposed "Cordoba House" overlooking the World Trade Center site – where a group of jihadists killed over 3000 Americans and destroyed one of our most famous landmarks - is a test of the timidity, passivity and historic ignorance of American elites.  For example, most of them don’t understand that “Cordoba House” is a deliberately insulting term.  It refers to Cordoba, Spain – the capital of Muslim conquerors who symbolized their victory over the Christian Spaniards by transforming a church there into the world’s third-largest mosque complex.

Today, some of the Mosque’s backers insist this term is being used to "symbolize interfaith cooperation" when, in fact, every Islamist in the world recognizes Cordoba as a symbol of Islamic conquest.  It is a sign of their contempt for Americans and their confidence in our historic ignorance that they would deliberately insult us this way.

Those Islamists and their apologists who argue for "religious toleration" are arrogantly dishonest. They ignore the fact that more than 100 mosques already exist in New York City. Meanwhile, there are no churches or synagogues in all of Saudi Arabia. In fact no Christian or Jew can even enter Mecca.

And they lecture us about tolerance.

If the people behind the Cordoba House were serious about religious toleration, they would be imploring the Saudis, as fellow Muslims, to immediately open up Mecca to all and immediately announce their intention to allow non-Muslim houses of worship in the Kingdom.   They should be asked by the news media if they would be willing to lead such a campaign.

We have not been able to rebuild the World Trade Center in nine years.  Now we are being told a 13 story, $100 million mega-mosque will be built within a year overlooking the site of the most devastating surprise attack in American history.

Finally where is the money coming from?  The people behind the Cordoba House refuse to reveal all their funding sources.

America is experiencing an Islamist cultural-political offensive designed to undermine and destroy our civilization. Sadly, too many of our elites are the willing apologists for those who would destroy them if they could.

No mosque.

No self deception.

No surrender.

The time to take a stand is now - at this site on this issue.

Quick! Hand me some Evangelical smelling salts. If Newt decides to run for President, he should just cue up this commentary and go to every conservative Evangelical Church in America.

While I am uncertain that Mr. Gingrich has a chance to win, I certainly do appreciate & applaud his stance on this issue. We cannot bow down to the people who brought us 9/11, as well as the Gulf War. We need to remember that this IS a Christian nation, no matter how the current president feels about the issue.

I say his comments are right. They try to impose their "religion" on us all the time.
If they had their way women would be seen and
not heard. There already plent of mosques in
New York; why do they have to build the biggest
one right there?
What if some of the people that lost loved ones there think of it as a sacred burial place? You don't build things on cemeteries!
Why should we tread lightly when it comes to
them; they get offended at the mention of
Jesus name. We are a Christian nation.
Why did the media ignore the fact that Obama
was a Muslim? He's probably helping promote
this to make him look good again!
Anyway Mike Huckabee agreed with Newt and so
did Sarah Palin! Why is everybody going after
anyone who doesn't want the mosque?

# RE: Newt Gingrich: Proposed Ground Zero Mosque is Religious "Double Standard"

Yes, what Mr. Gingrich is stating is so true, but I never see any of our government leaders or those of the United Nations support the Christians of Saudi Arabian decent allowed to practice their religion. Article 18 of the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights states that Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change one's religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance. Our President is trying to change this Article to freedom of worship only. This Article is a standard for every nation, but the US is the only that so far has followed it. In Saudi Arabia you will be imprisoned for doing any of the above. Why? They accepted this Article and belong the the United Nations. America wake up, our FREEDOM is being abused and will destroy this great country by believing the lies of our enemies.

Right, Newt said exactly what I said all my life when I see the ridiculous Islamic invasion in the Western world.
