Jim DeMint: "Republicans Deserve a Choice" in 2010 Midterm Elections


Senator Jim DeMint says even though he’s putting his money and name behind conservative Republican candidates in 2010, he’ll still back the Republican Primary winner even if it’s not his conservative candidate. Watch him talk about this below with key excerpts below:

Senator Jim DeMint: “Whoever wins the primary I’m going to support them in the Republican Party but I think Republicans deserve a choice in this environment.”

Senator Jim DeMint: "Republicans have a lot of good candidates. I’m just looking for those I feel like would stand up and make a difference.”

Senator Jim DeMint: “The last thing America wants is hypocrite in office and if we say we’re for less spending and keep voting for it we lose our credibility or if we’re against debt and we keep voting for it.  So I think Americans want to look at someone who has proven that they’ll stand up take on the establishment or not whether it’s their own party or not…”

We in the Illinois are in dire need of any assistance Jim DeMint can bring to our GOP Senate primary. The leading candidate, Rep. Mark Kirk, is indicative of the failings of the IL GOP over the past few decades - it can't spell 'conservative' let alone practice the basic tenets. Senator DeMint's support of a more conservative candidate (I'll let him make that choice) would send a strong message to Kirk and the IL GOP that we are not roll over any longer for weak-kneed Republicans.
