Talk about a World Wrestling raw smackdown have you heard about the controversial candidate who's running as a Republican for the U.S. Senate in Connecticut?
Her name is Linda McMahon.

Who is she? Umm, she happens to be the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment and the wife of wrestling icon Vince McMahon. (WWE)
I wonder how Republican value voters may take to the fact that she clearly profited and has direct ties to the WWE's over the top promotion of all things sexual including the exploiting of women in those crazy wrestling events.
Oh, that's right. It's just entertainment. It's not real. My bad. Well, sorry to break the news to ya but the last time I checked all that WWE sexual exploitation junk probably seems very real to men. It's called making money folks. And Linda McMahon has made plenty.
Here's the question: As Republicans (and especially conservatives) looks to pick their Senate Republican challenger to Chris Dodd, will a glaring association like this matter? McMahon is selling herself as a successful businesswoman who preaches fiscal discipline but should that be enough or do social values matter? Oh, did I mention she's pro-choice too. Will Linda McMahon become the next Dede Scozzafava? Look. McMahon is a serious threat to win the Republican nomination because she's rich and that means she's going to spend her millions of her own money in the race. That could easily take the Republican National Committee off the financial hook which makes her an attractive candidate if she wins the primary. But will primary voting conservatives say no way even if she has a chance to beat the longtime incumbent Chris Dodd?
At this point, The Brody File would direct you to a few YouTube clips of how WWE is raw and over the top. But a quick YouTube typing of WWE and a few choice words will bring the point home. However, check this video out of Linda McMahon knealing down in a "fake prayer" with her husband Vince McMahon. I understand the video below is 'entertainment" but that doesn't mean value voters won't get a offended.
Below Linda McMahon describes her WWE involvement. She says there was a time when the WWE programming was TV-14 but now it's PG and she goes on to say that "it's energetic, it's entertaining, it's music, it's pyro, it's pomp and circumstance, it's what keeps people interested in the product."
She left out the word sexual. As the Church Lady from SNL would say, "How Conveeeeeeeeeinant! Watch below:
Oh, did I also mention that she's given thousands of dollars recently to the Democratic National Committee?
This is a race to watch in 2010. The Brody File is gearing up for 2010 already. My bedtime stories to my 7 year old daughter include RNC and DNC talking points. It puts her to sleep like clockwork but I like it.
