She is an "Army of One". Heck, if she really wanted to play health care hardball, she could make life miserable for The White House. But no Olympia Snowe is a patriotic American doing her duty for the country to bring people the health care reform they need (please read as much sarcasm into that line as you wish. Each person will be able to measure their own sarcasm on the meter provided below)
Hey let's not kid ourselves. ONE GOP Senator does not make a bill bi-partisan. The last time I checked anytime you get 75 votes or so in the Senate is when you have a real bi-partisan bill. So can we stop calling this bill bi-partisan? Can anybody really do that with a straight face?
That's like saying that I have teamed with my entire Jewish family to form a Jewish-Christian Coalition? C'mon.
The power of Olympia Snowe is really more like the power of centrist Democrats. Snowe and those Senate Democrats are a powerful block. They will have their say on what this bill looks like in the end because without their votes Reid ain't got 60. Pure and simple.
