This hasn't been all that much of a vacation for President Obama. First he interupts his vacation by holding a quickie press conference to re-nominate Ben Bernanke. Now of course you have the Ted Kennedy situation and the coming funeral. And now tomorrow (Thursday August 27th) the abortion protesters are headed to Martha's Vineyard. It's headed up by the Christian Defense Coalition. They are heading straight to the President's vacation home (or as close as they can get) to let the President know abortions won't fly in health care reform.
Here's some of their press release:
The activists will be holding large banners saying "Abortion is Not Health Care" and "President Obama human rights begin in the womb... Protect America's children."
Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, states,
"We are traveling to Martha's Vineyard to publicly remind the President that abortion is not health care and not one penny of public monies should be spent on paying for abortions.
"We think it is important during this national debate on health care, that President Obama embrace social justice and human rights for all. We do not want the President to turn health care, which is supposed to heal and bring comfort to those in need, into something that destroys and diminishes innocent human life."

Folks here's the dirty little secret. The abortion issue in the health care reform debate is NOT going away. As a matter of fact, watch for close to 40 conservative and moderate House Democrats to push Pelosi on this issue and get new wording on abortion language in the bill.
By the way, memo to Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats: If health care reform debate isn't going so well in this month of August, here's something to cheer you up. Watch below.
