The White House is fighting back against a Drudge posted health care clip that suggests President Obama wants to do away with private insurance companies over time and how he would like to see a single payer health care system. After watching Linda Douglass tape this White House response it simply doesn't address the context of what the President was saying in the controversial video thus it's not very effective. Plus, here's the broader problem for The White House. When Obama talks back in 2003 about wanting a single payer system that is problematic because it plays right into Republican hands. Look, The GOP can run with that clip and basically say that this public option is just the first step before President Obama's single payer dream system. Then comes the GOP talk about rationing and what you have is a major political problem for the President. This single payer clip from 2003 can really do some damage.
