Joshua DuBois, head of The White House Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships sits down for an exclusive one on one interview with The Brody File.
I interviewed him in his hometown of Nashville this past weekend. I’ll be doing an in depth personal profile piece on Joshua DuBois later this month on The 700 Club. I talk to his parents as well. But because we love to provide the vast Brody File audience (all twelve of you) some preview clips, I’ve decided to post eight excerpts from the interview. Aren’t you lucky?
In this clip, I ask him about the progress of the abortion reduction initiative. DuBois has played a central role.
David Brody: “What can people expect to see in the next 3-6 months? It’s been talked about quite a bit and I’m just wondering if you can kind of maybe set the record straight a little bit because a lot of people have different ideas on what it could be or should be.”
Joshua DuBois: “The good thing is that the President has been extraordinarily clear about this. He knows that there are very clear perspectives on both sides of this difficult issue. Pro-choice Americans, Pro-life Americans. But he thinks there’s a lot of area in the middle that we can potentially find some agreement on whether it’s strengthening the institution of adoption or making sure that pregnant women have the health care and the care and support to bring a pregnancy to term. We’ve been meeting with groups on both sides of this spectrum and in the middle as well and learning their best ideas about that common ground space in the middle. Now we’re bringing all that information back. We’re going to give it to the President. He’s going to think through and talk about where he wants to go forward in that area so we’ve concluded the set of meetings and now we’re just kind of compiling it and getting ready for the President and then he will eventually talk about where he thinks we should be going.”
