Joshua DuBois, head of The White House Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships sits down for an exclusive one on one interview with The Brody File.
I interviewed him in his hometown of Nashville this past weekend. I’ll be doing an in depth personal profile piece on Joshua DuBois later this month on The 700 Club. I talk to his parents as well. But because we love to provide the vast Brody File audience (all twelve of you) some preview clips, I’ve decided to post eight excerpts from the interview. Aren’t you lucky?
In this clip, I ask him about what he would say to skeptical conservative Evangelicals who simply don’t believe anything President Obama has to say. ( The video below only shows a partial answer but I have provided the whole transcript.)
Joshua DuBois: “I would just say it’s always helpful to go directly to the source. For me, I don’t want to convey a message to seek to teach anyone anything but for me when I’m seeking to evaluate a public official, an elected official, President or anyone else I try to ignore the blogs, ignore the emails and just listen to what they saying and really think for myself and really discern for myself where they’re coming from and having known the President for awhile, known his family, talked with him and prayed with him he’s not going to get everything right but he does have a heart for people and a heart for really trying to do things in a way that disregards political divides and seeks to find some common ground. So I would say if folks can kind of listen to him and think for themselves about what he’s saying and what his actions are make their decisions based on that.”
