Samuel Rodriguez: "As an Evangelical, as a Christian i have some concerns, concerns that pertian to her judicial activism even though I'm a bit surprised and pleasantly surprised as it pertains to her 2002 decision affirming the George W. Bush administration's right to fund an anti-abortion plank."
"She's a Catholic and as a Catholic Latina there are some social conservative threads embedded there that maybe some on the right and some in the conservative movement may not be privy to. When I look at Sotomayor collectively, I am pleasantly surprised that President Obama did not reach out to the extreme extreme left and I think we could have had someone even more uber activist than Sotomayor may very well end up being."
Brody: Can you get behind her eventually?
Samuel Rodriguez: Not yet. We're doing our due dillegence in looking at her record, her entire career particularly on issues that are so important to the Hispanic American Christian community; issues of life, issues of traditional marriage."
