Gitmo Big problem for President Obama

This whole Gitmo Detainee situation has been a PR nightmare for the Obama administration. As a matter of fact, click here to see a visual representation of the mess.

C'mon folks let's all get real. You think when President Obama issued that Executive Order on closing Gitmo a few months ago that administration officials were thinking about a 90-6 defeat in the Democrat led Senate on the Gitmo funding issue? As my Jewish uncle would say around the Passover table, "Pass the Manashevitz! Oy-vey.

The President is feeling heat from the right and left on national security. It's defintely his biggest political hurdle.

Seriously, finding a place for detainees (read: terrorists) is more than tricky. It is politically flammable. Releasing terrorists in the USA? Umm hello? Not going over well. You think the Europeans are gonna take them? Umm,, don't count on it.

Maybe we should start a Detainee All Star Basketball Squad and let them travel the country and play the likes of the "Leavenworth Jail Birds" or the "Supermax Florence Slammers" or the Alcatraz Men in Stripes"?

Releasing them in the United States? C'mon, that's an absurd rumor started by politicians who are more interested in scoring points off this problem than they are in solving it.
