CBN executive producer Robin Mazyck here with a guest blog for The Brody File. (David is taking a few days off this week as he recovers from his trip to Europe and takes his son to visit colleges! Of course, the news doesn't stop here.)
Earlier tonight, I attended a two-hour White House briefing on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships.
About 62 leaders from across the religious spectrum were invited to the Old Executive Building - which is sits right next to the White House.
During the meeting executive director Joshua DuBois, his staff provided handouts and information on what the White House Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships office would look like.
We started the evening with a welcome and a look at the new goals set by the administration. We then heard speakers talk about domestic poverty and the President's priorities. We then heard about the economic recovery plan and opportunities for faith-based and community organizations.

I shook hands and met quite a few of the participants at the event. For the most part, every one was excited and bubbling with enthusiasm about how they could better their communities at home. They were thrilled to get an opportunity to provide the Obama administration with their thoughts and concerns. They were also impressed with the fact that so many different people, with so many different ideologies and beliefs were able to come together and dialogue.
On Tuesday, Melody Barnes will give remarks and the group will talk about responsible fatherhood and healthy families, environment and climate change, global poverty and development and inter-religious dialogue and cooperation.
