Moderate Evangelical Groups Lead Way on Reducing Abortions Debate

Can moderate Evangelical groups come to the rescue on the issue of reducing abortions? Groups like Faith in Public Life, Third Way, Sojourners and Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good (and others too) are working overtime to try and make it happen. They have a friend in the White House. Watch my TV story that aired on the 700 Club this morning. <

Watch Hillary Get a Lecture on Abortion by Pro-Life Congressmen

The Brody File has found a few videos of today’s House hearing where Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was blasted over her support of abortion overseas. She was also criticized for her praise of Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger who is EXTREMELY controversial for her views of the unborn. <

Defending Abortion

Fervent pro-life Congressman Chris Smith vs. Hillary Clinton on abortion. I'll pay for that. Actually, I didn't have too. It was free at today's House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing. Clinton defended family planning and abortion. Read below from AFP:

The CIA Memos: This Could Get Ugly

Let’s just be honest here. This CIA Memos story has the potential to be an absolute train wreck for the Obama administration. If former Bush administration officials are investigated and brought before Congress then it’s a triple whammy for the President. <

Catholic "Mass of Reparation" Planned Because of President Obama’s Notre Dame Appearance

This Notre Dame controversy is not going away. As a matter of fact, it’s getting bigger. With a nod to my Jewish upbringing how do you say “Oy-vey” in “Catholic-ese”? <

Breaking: Embryonic Stem cell Guidelines Released

The Obama administration looks like they are playing it more cautious and safe than some may have thought when it comes to embryonic stem cell research. Just this afternoon, NIH released new guidelines for what IS and WHAT isn’t allowed when it comes to embryonic stem cell research. Bottom line: as expected the guidelines go further than the Bush administration when it comes to research on discarded embryos from fertility clinics. BUT the Obama administration (through the NIH guidelines) i

Brody File readers are swamping me with emails. They have a thing or two to say about the whole Georgetown cross story. More on the story here. Just some of the vehement reaction below: Rev. Patrick Mahoney, a pro-life leader nationwide says this: <

Sarah Palin is coming to the Lower 48 tonight and she’s got a pro-life speech in her hand. She’s choosing the Vanderburgh County Right to Life Banquet in Evansville, Indiana as her first major public event since the 2008 campaign. Pro-lifers must be jumping for joy, Liberals are probably taking an advil.

White House to Brody File: No Georgetown Coverup… Cross or otherwise

In a statement to The Brody File, The White House says any suggestion that the administration purposely covered a cross and a Catholic religious monogram during President Obama’s speech this week at Georgetown are “simply false”. <

The President gets Biblical

President Obama went “biblical” in his economic speech at Georgetown this week. You caught the reference right? I know…I know….I understand you may be a little too busy in your lives to read the text of his speeches so since that is what I do for a living let me share a portion of it with you. Read below and then let’s discuss: <

The Sebelius TV Story

Watch my TV report on the new information regarding the Kathleen Sebelius nomination. Will the fact that she didn’t disclose $23,000 worth of campaign contributions from a late term abortionist derail her HHS nomination? Are pro-life groups the only ones who care about this? <

Anti-Israel Conference a No-Go for White House?

At this point, it doesn’t appear likely that the United States will attend a controversial United Nations conference on racism. It looks like the Obama Administration is backing away from attending the conference. The concern? Too much anti-Israel rhetoric. And while the language of the UN document has been toned down it still doesn’t appear to be enough to appease the administration. More below from The Jerusalem Post: <

Being Rick Warren

In case you hadn’t heard, Pastor Rick Warren was supposed to be on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos but canceled at the last minute citing fatigue and exhaustion. I’m sure George had the tapes cued up of Warren’s supposed contradiction on Prop 8. Look, anytime you cancel on one of the major TV network Sunday shows you do yourself no favors. It makes it look like he’s running scared. Amy Sullivan of Time Magazine writes this: <

The Brody File | Obama to Visit More Churches

A source with knowledge of the White House's thinking believes that President Obama will visit several other congregations before making a final decision on where to attend church. No church names were given but a White House source does tell me that being an imposition on churches is a concern.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs spoke one on one with The Brody File from the G-20 Summit. Watch the interview above. The highlight was probably when he told me about “high level meetings” regarding their attempt to watch the Final 4 basketball tournament this weekend. Gibbs and President Obama are huge sports fans but they’re stuck in Europe during the Final 4. <
