When it comes to the conversation about reducing abortions, the issue of contraception is certainly going to be at the center of the debate. Melody Barnes, White House Domestic Policy Council Director explained to The Brody File that you can be pro-life and support contraception funding. Watch above and read her answer below.
David Brody: How can you bridge that gap exactly? Does The White House have a plan? Is there any give there?
Melody Barnes: "I think the characterization of who supports that issue the perception of that may be a little bit skewed. There are people, and I worked in Congress many years, who have a pro-life record but at the same time are strong supporters of family planning and contraception so I think bringing people around the table who may disagree on some issues but again are looking for those places where we can agree and we can move the debate forward is important."
