We here at The Brody File will always give you both sides of the story. So without further ado, check out this release just coming from Catholics United. They are defending Kathleen Sebelius on the abortion issue.
President Obama has decided on Kathleen Sebelius as his pick for HHS Secretary. He's about to get pummeled by pro-life groups. They view the Kansas Governor as way out of the mainstream on abortion. The Obama administration views her as the best person out there to lead HHS and the fight over healthcare. Read below from Reuters and then get my take:
Let’s all try and understand what’s going on here with this brewing controversy over the abortion conscious clause. The Obama administration is looking at rescinding it. Read from Lifenews.com to start: <

Bobby Jindal is going to be a star. Correct that. He is a star already. His star turn came tonight when the Lousiiana Governor gave the Republican response to President Obama's speech tonight. Can anybody say 2012?
There will never be another Ronald Reagan. Never. But President Obama came across as very Reagan-esque tonight by pulling a page out of the Reagan playbook. He simply and effectively explained the economic crisis to the American people. It's called, "Keep it Simple Stupid". It is what Reagan did best and Obama really seemed to lay it out there in a way everyone could understand. Read the text of Obama's speech here.
Republican Bobby Jindal has a big moment tonight. The national response he gives to President Obama’s speech tonight could be the launching pad for a 2012 presidential run. <
Concerned Women for America is CONCERNED. For that matter, so are many pro-life groups. As The Brody File searches around, I can tell you that if President Obama picks Kathleen Sebelius as HHS Secretary, pro-life groups are going to make a big stink about it. And don't be surprised to see some of those pro-life Congressmen to follow.
Look over there in the corner! It's House Minority Leader John Boehner raising the red flag. On that flag is a big sign that says: DC SCHOOL VOUCHERS PHASED OUT
You know what all this economic talk comes down to? One word: fairness. <
Ever since President Obama signed his Faith Based Initiative Executive Order a couple weeks ago, there’s been some frustration on the left because the President’s Executive order did not rescind Bush Administration Policy on how faith groups are allowed to hire. Some on theleft believe it amounts to discrimination. <
Liberal Democrats might want to bring back the controversial Fairness Doctrine but apparently President Obama doesn’t. Read below from Fox News: <

Wait until you get a load of this video. As part of a school competition, this 12 old girl from Toronto gave a speech about abortion. Let’s just say it didn’t go over well with some teachers in the school. Watch the YouTube version of her speech here. I don’t care if you’re pro-life or pro-choice, this girl can bring it! We have a politician in the making or maybe the next big pro-life leader. Maybe she’s the next Sarah Palin! <
Watch David Brody's report on how to pray for President Obama.

U.S., Senator Jim DeMint says President Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden should share the blame for this recession. Some of you may have seen this video but The Brody File never assumes everybody has seen something. So for those of you who haven’t I want to share with you this pretty compelling pro-life ad that focuses on Barack Obama. <
Let’s face it. Some congressional Democrats want to bring back the Fairness Doctrine. (Conservatives call it the “Censorship Doctrine) You can add Iowa Senator Tom Harkin to that list. Listen to what he said here and read the transcript from the Bill Press Radio Show below: <
Check out my live shot on this morning's 700 Club. I talk with Pat Robertson about President Obama's press conference and the stimulus bill.
President Obama couldn't have asked for a better first primetime news conference.
President Obama said today that he’s willing to have a “beer” with conservative talk show host Sean Hannity. Watch those remarks here. Here’s all I have to say. If he’s willing to have a beer with Hannity, how about a lemonade with me? I don’t drink but surely lemonade is cheaper than a beer. If you could have a “drink” with President Obama, what would be the one question you would ask him? I will post the results. Keep it clean and
The stimulus bill is proof positive that elections have consequences. Let’s think about this for a moment. To get his stimulus bill through Congress, President Obama needs 60 votes in the Senate. Because the Democrats picked up quite a few Senate seats this past fall, they got close to the magic 60 seat number with Democrats alone, Obama only needed a couple Republicans to get to 60. He got Snowe, Collins and Specter and bingo! He has a bill that will eventually wind up on his desk.
Pastor Joel Hunter will be on President Obama’s Advisory Faith Council. I caught up with the Mega-Church pastor today at The White House. He and the other 14 Council members met with the President in the Oval Office Thursday. <
The Brody File spoke with Sojourners President Jim Wallis over at The White House today. Reverend Wallis is one of the members of President Obama’s Advisory Faith Council. It runs about 11 minutes but if you really want to get a sense of what this faith council is all about you really should watch it all. He has keen insight and is a very important player in all of this.
The way religious conservatives see it the scorecard reads like this: <

The Brody File has video and text of President Obama's speech at this morning's National Prayer Breakfast. Read it below. Leave your comments at bottom. What do you think? Too generic? Perfect? Somewhere in the middle? What do you need to see from President Obama that may remove some of your skepticism? <
There’s a new sheriff in town and this sheriff says he “screwed up”. Remember the old sheriff? That guy from Texas? He would never have said he “screwed up” even when the evidence may have pointed to the contrary. It takes courage and some guts to go out on national television and admit you blew it. Critics will say he had no choice because of all the tax problems with Daschle, Killifer and Geitner. Well, wait a minute. Of couse he had a choice. Hey f
U.S. Senator Jim DeMint tells The Brody File that a newly discovered controversial provision in President Obama's stimulus plan is, “an attack on people of faith". <
I gave my take, today, on Tom Daschle's decision to withdraw his nomination to be the next secretary of Health and Human Services.
Oh my. It's a circus here at The White House. I'm sitting here in my cubicle in The White House press room and WH press assistant Nick Shapiro just handed me a written paper statement saying Daschle is pulling out as Health and Human Services Secretary Nominee because of all his tax problems. This is a blow. A Major blow.
Have you heard the latest news?
President Obama may have a high approval rating but he’s getting low marks for his decision to reverse one of President Bush’s pro-life Executive Orders. Read below from the latest Gallup Poll: <
And Judd Gregg makes three. Three Republicans in President Obama’s cabinet. First Robert Gates, then Ray LaHood and now Judd Gregg as Commerce Secretary. The announcement is today. <
Does anyone REALLY think HHS Nominee and former Senator Tom Daschle is NOT going to get confirmed as HHS Secretary? Please. C’mon. <
Watch David Brody's live report on President Obama's new faith council. David broke the story this morning.
President Obama needs to be careful. This summer he could get his first opportunity to nominate a Supreme Court Justice. He may want to have a look at a new Rasmussen Poll before he makes his pick. Read below: <
President Obama and his moderate Evangelical friends want to shift the discussion on abortion to how all of us can come together to reduce the need for abortions. Sounds great. It’s a noble goal. There’s just one problem. <
