So here we are this week in Washington watching these big three automakers explain how they are going to restructure their companies so as to prove worthy of billions of dollars in federal money. Hello? Shouldn’t they have come up with restructuring and innovative plans months ago, if not years ago? Now, all of a sudden they come up with a plan because they want the loan money? Joe six pack says poppycock.

The big three automaker CEO’s come back to Washington this week and now they say they’ll work for $1 dollar a year and oh by the way, they will drive to the hearings this week in DC instead of taking their corporate jets. Wow! I’m so impressed. Give me a break. Do I sound bitter? Angry? I’m in therapy.

By the way, let’s be realistic. You know these major automakers will get their money. Nobody knows the exact figure but they will get something substantial. Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Republican leadership can’t take the risk that they fail and then see this economy go into even more of a tailspin. If that happens, approval ratings sink and their policy agenda is jeopardized because the economy will rule over every other priority.
