December 2008 Entries
What an amazing year 2008 was for The Brody File. As a team, we traveled from one side of the country and back - three times over.
All you folks who really thought Barack Obama was really going to use the Koran for his swearing in, umm, think again. Yes, I'm not kidding. There were people out there who actually thought this. Oh, brother. That's another story.
The Brody File is going on vacation. I plan to recharge the batteries the next two weeks which means we’ll be back up and running on Monday January 5th. <
Producer Robin Mazyck here with the latest on the controversy surrounding President-elect Barack Obama and Pastor Rick Warren.
On The Brody File first: <
Quick! It’s on sale now! The Sarah Palin calendar! The conservative group Human Events is pushing it. View the calendar here and read below from Human Events: <
So let me get straight to the point. <
Let the record now reflect that Barack Obama has angered the liberals before the conservatives. Because he picked pro-life conservative Mega Pastor Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at his inauguration, the liberals are reaching for their heart medication and the Peto-Bismol.
Pro-life pastor Rick Warren will give the invocation at President-Elect Barack Obama’s inauguration. It makes a whole lot of sense. Even though Warren and Obama disagree on the life issue, they do see eye to eye on many social justice issues. <
The President of the conservative Family Research Council is not thrilled with Barack Obama’s pick for Education Secretary. Perkins sent The Brody File the following statement via email today: <
Obama’s new pick for Education secretary is Arne Duncan, head of Chicago Public Schools. He’s been pushing for Chicago to start their first gay high school. Not kidding. <
Best Selling Christian author Max Lucado is imploring people around the country to pray for Barack Obama and his family. He’s started a website where you can go sign up as prayer partners across this country for the incoming President-Elect <
Maybe Barack Obama should ditch the middle name “Hussein” for his inaugural and go with this: <
Have a look at what I had to say the other day on CNN regarding President Bush's comments that the Bible is probably not literally true. Grab the smelling salts!
OK folks, here’s the deal. If you are an “Evangelical leader” and you come out in support of civil unions you are toast. Just ask Richard Cizik, one of the so-called socially conservative Evangelical leaders. He didn’t sound so socially conservative recently and now he’s gone. Please click here to watch Evangelicals sing his last song. <
Mitch McConnell has spoken. And now it looks like the auto bailout is dead….for now. It’s not a good day for the White House when the leader of the Republicans in the senate comes out against YOUR agreement. <
Trickle…trickle…trickle… <
President Bush is not inclined to believe that the Bible is the literal word of God. That’s not me saying that. He said it himself in an interview with ABC’s Nightline. Watch it here and read from Religion News below: <
Some people will chalk this next item up to the “Who cares?” file. Others will think it’s important. Should the President-elect be sworn in as “Barack Hussein Obama”? Should he use his middle name? Obama says he WILL use his middle name. <
Talk about a wake up call! The Illinois Governor and his Chief of Staff sure got the loud buzzer of their lives this morning when FBI agents showed up at their homes at 6:15am. <
Michael Steele, who is running to be Chairman of the Republican National Committee, says he’s personally against a federal marriage amendment but will support it as RNC Chairman. <
Michael Steele tells The Brody File that despite his involvement with the pro-choice Republican Leadership Council, he is committed to the pro-life agenda. He’s come under criticism from some pro-life groups who have publicly questioned his commitment because of the association with the RLC. More on that here.Steele is running to be Chairman of the Republican National Committee. <
Michael Steele, one of the leading contenders for Republican National Committee Chairman tells The Brody File that his conservative critics need to “wake up” and get over the fact that he once played a role in the centrist Republican Leadership Council. <
Michael Steele, who’s running for the chairmanship of the Republican National Committee, tells The Brody File that he believes the mainstream media will give Barack Obama a two year honeymoon period. <
Michael Steele tells The Brody File that President Bush should have called Alaska Senator Ted Stevens into The White House and pressured him to resign. Because he didn’t, Steele tells The Brody File that the GOP ended up losing that Senate seat to the Democratic Party. <
Attention liberals! Grab your heart medication! Obama seems centrist so far. Read below from Politico: <
The Brody File hits CNN again this weekend. Hilary Rosen and I will be co-hosting the political show called “After Party” this Saturday at 6pm. It replays on Sunday at 2pm. <
Some folks just won’t give it up. There are those out there who believe Barack Obama is not a U.S. Citizen. Or there are at least enough questions out there that need to be answered. Friday, The U.S. Supreme Court will decide if they’ll take a legal case against Obama. I bring his up because yes, I still get emails and phone calls about this topic. Read below from The Chicago Tribune: <
The CEO's of the big three automakers come to Washington Thursday looking for money. Watch my television report above. Comments?
Looking for a gift card for Christmas? Planned Parenthood has a novel idea: gift cards that you can use to pay for an abortion. Are you kidding me? I’m speechless. <
So here we are this week in Washington watching these big three automakers explain how they are going to restructure their companies so as to prove worthy of billions of dollars in federal money. Hello? Shouldn’t they have come up with restructuring and innovative plans months ago, if not years ago? Now, all of a sudden they come up with a plan because they want the loan money? Joe six pack says poppycock. <
Now that Republican Saxby Chambliss clobbered Jim Martin in the Georgia runoff, the Democrats can’t get to their magical 60 vote threshold in the Senate. More on that in a moment but what strikes me as interesting is the fact that Barack Obama never campaigned for Jim Martin in Georgia. <
God is real. I have no doubt about that but good luck trying to find him inside the Capitol Visitor Center. To put it mildly, it has been a pain in the “you know what” to get references to God inside this mammoth center that opens Tuesday. Heck, the folks putting it together didn’t even put in the nation’s motto, “In God We Trust.” They are now going to correct it. Read below from National Review: <
Watch my television story today on Barack Obama's national security picks for his cabinet.
Hillary Clinton will be Secretary of State. I can hear the song now. <
