The pro-life Susan B. Anthony List group is going for a little shock and awe in an abortion mailer they're sending out about Barack Obama's record on the subject.

According to the group, the mailer is being sent out to "over half a million identified pro-life voters in battleground states: Ohio, Minnesota, Michigan, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, and Colorado."
My guess is mailers like this may indeed get pro-lifers up off their "you know whats" and vote for McCain. But still. McCain hardly ever mentioned the abortion issue in this campaign. It's never been a huge campaign issue because the McCain campaign decided not to play it up. That could cost them a whole lot of votes. A mailer at the end of a campaign is much different than the candidate talking it up on the trail. But I guess you don't want to scare those independent voters with all this pro-life talk right? Please.
