More reaction on the Palin pick coming in to The Brody File. This time it is top evangelical lawyer Jay Sekulow, chief counsel for The American Center for Law and Justice.
The Brody File has reaction on the Sarah Palin pick from top Republican strategist Ralph Reed. Read below:
Let me lay out why picking Sarah Palin may end up going down in political history as a masterful stroke of genius by John McCain and his team. There are pitfalls, no doubt about it. But let’s look at why this pick makes complete sense in so many different ways. <
Here's a "ca-ching" moment for Evangelicals. John McCain's new vice-presidential running mate signed a proclamation back in October of 2007 which emphasized the Christian heritage of America.
Here’s something that may play well with Independent and moderate women across America. Sarah Palin is not your typical pro-lifer. When it comes to abortion, she puts an emphasis on the woman just as much as the baby. She’s part of a group called “Feminists for Life”. Read more from Lifenews.com: <
The abortion issue is going to be making headlines again and that's a good thing now for John McCain. Take a look at this article from the Anchorage Daily News. You can read it here.
This just coming in to The Brody File from Janice Shaw Crouse, spokesperson, Legislative Action Committee, Concerned Women for America:
Wow. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is John McCain's pick for Vice-President. Folks, this is s close to a game changer as you can get.
Take a look at my live shot Thursday night on The 700 Club. I was reporting live from Invesco Field right after Obama gave his speech. Watch it above. I am off to Minneapolis today to cover the Republican convention.
It was a speech with mile high expectations. Leave it to Barack Obama to exceed them. Think about the pressure Obama was under to deliver this speech. He needed to motivate and inspire without using soaring rhetoric or coming across like Zeus. He needed to make this speech about others not him. He needed to make this speech about his love for America. And he needed to offer more details about what his type of change really means. And oh by the way, he had to do it with 84,000 people watching him

There’s a big difference this time around for Democrats. In 2004, the “Dems” gave us John Kerry and John Edwards. The whole thing felt very plastic, fake, and a little too rich and stuffy. (Windsurfing anyone?) In 2008, it is the exact opposite. The ticket has an authentic and real feel to it. It very well could be a difference maker. <
Let me get this straight. First Bill Clinton thinks it’s a risk to vote for Obama and now he thinks he’s ready to be President? That may be tough for some to swallow. What Clinton did Wednesday night was what he HAD to do. He may not think Obama is really ready or even qualified to be President but loyalty to the Democratic Party trumps it all. It’s really that simple. <

Her speech Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention hit the mark by praising Obama, praising her supporters and preaching unity. The words were eloquent and more importantly her cadence and emotion were present and effective. It did not look as though she was going through the motions. I mean what else could she do? Do a handstand on stage and chant "Yes We Can"?
The Brody File was live at the Democratic Nation Convention when Hillary Clinton gave her speech Tuesday night. Watch my report above.

Let's get this out of the way right now. John McCain is the frontrunner. Yes, this race is ultimately about delegates but it is also about momentum and in two key states where the vote was contested, McCain has come out on top. Romney may be in the hunt with delegates but McCain is the story.
John McCain's trusted senior advisor and dear friend Charlie Black has a message for Mitt Romney; stop the bleeding now.
The New York Times lowered the boom on John McCain Wednesday night and McCain's campaign lowered it right back.
Well, what are we supposed to make of this? The Associated Press reports that Hillary Clinton lent her campaign $6.4 million last month and her Communications Director Howard Wolfson said this morning that she may give even more soon.
I ran into Rudy Giuliani tonight at the Democratic National Convention. I asked him about how the Obama campaign is going to overcome the damaging statements made by Sen. Joe Biden about Barack Obama.

On a night when the whole nation was watching, Michelle Obama showed why America may indeed fall in love with her as the next First Lady of the United States.
The Brody File has been busy working behind the scenes, connecting with newsmakers at the Democratic National Convention.
I had a chance to ask Virginia Governor Tim Kaine about the fact that he was on the short list of people being considered for Barack Obama's Vice President.

Hillary Clinton has delivered all the right words so far in support of Barack Obama. But is it enough? Should it be enough?
A Republican official tells The Brody File that the McCain campaign will be unveiling another campaign ad targeting disgruntled Hillary Clinton supporters. Just this morning they released an ad called, "Debra" Watch it here. But another ad that is similar in nature is coming later this week.
The Brody File is gearing up for tonight's official kick off at the Democratic National Convention. Come on a quick tour with me as I roam the convention floor. Click above to watch.
Barack Obama makes a big deal about how lobbyists are persona non grata when it comes to his campaign. Watch above to see what Joe Biden had to say about lobbyists in December of 2007. The Brody File shot this video on the campaign trail.
When The Brody File traveled to Iowa back in December of 2007 to cover Joe Biden's presidential campaign, we covered one of his town hall speeches. Above is a clip where he describes family values and says the Republican Party does not corner the market on them. Watch it.
The Brody File went on the road with the Biden campaign back in December of 2007. We videotaped one of his town halls. Watch above as he talks about the VP slot and how he is an agent of change.
The Brody File interviewed Joe Biden in Iowa back in December of 2007. We have compiled the links where you can watch Biden talk about certain aspects of his life.
Normally Barack Obama is great at making speeches but today in Springfield, Ill. he seemed to bungle a few lines. No biggie except when it came time for the money line he flubbed it. The McCain campaign is already picking up on it. Here’s what Obama said:
In Joe Biden's Springfield speech today we saw a preview of what is to come.
The Republican National Committee and the McCain campaign are already sending out statements from Joe Biden's past in which he has been critical of Barack Obama on issues related to national security and experience. The Obama/Biden team is going to need to figure out how they fight against this.
Time will tell if Barack Obama made the right choice in picking Joe Biden but if you look at it on paper, it makes a whole lot of sense. <
Could this really be true? Hillary Clinton not even vetted seriously by Barack Obama? No paperwork asked for? Nada? Zilch? The big zero?
The Brody File is writing the following post because we’ve had numerous emails and comments about why John McCain is not appearing as much as Barack Obama on The Brody File. Where do I begin? <
This morning on The 700 Club I went on the air with a TV piece focusing on the controversy between Barack Obama and the National Right to Life over the Born Alive Infant Protection Act. You can watch the piece above. This was broadcast across the country. It will be replayed tonight at 11pm on the ABC Family Channel. Check your local listings. <
As you know, we here at The Brody File pride ourselves on laying out both sides of an argument and letting you, the readers come to your own conclusions. Hence, let’s delve into the aftermath of the controversy surrounding Barack Obama, the National Right to Life committee and The Born Alive Infant Protection Act. <
The Brody File put together a short piece on Saturday's Compassion Forum where Barack Obama and John McCain talked about - among other things- their Christian faith and their personal failures with mega-church Pastor Rick Warren. Click play to watch.
Gary Bauer, President of American Values, spoke to me about Sen. Barack Obama's appearance at the Compassion Forum at Saddleback Church. And he believes that the chancesof Obama winning a significant percentage of the Evangelical vote "ended" after the during the forum in part because of his answers on abortion and Supreme Court Justices. Bauer believes the event may end up being "one of the defining moments of the campaign."
I don’t think we should get into who won or who lost the Saddleback Civil Forum. That isn’t the proper way to judge an event like this. Instead, it’s more importantly to look at each candidate’s individual performances and asses it as it relates to what they were trying to accomplish. Let’s start with John McCain. We’ll deal with Barack Obama in a separate post. <
After the Compassion Forum ended at Saddleback Church Saturday night, I caught up with Kansas Senator Sam Brownback to get his thoughts on Sen. John McCain's performance.
It seems like Barack Obama’s heated answer about The Born Alive Infant Protection Act is making some headlines out there. The Brody File has decided to break out this clip of video by itself rather than having you sit through the whole 5 minute interview. The transcription is below. Clearly, the conversation over this bill has gotten Obama riled up. He truly believes The National Life to Right Committee is lying about this controversial infanticide bill which he opposed. He is adamant in s
I have had many emails about when the big Civil Forum starts. It starts at 8pm eastern time. It goes for two hours. Barack Obama is on from 8p-9p and then McCain from 9p-10p. On TV, you can watch it on CNN or FOX News but you can also watch it live right here on CBNNews.com.
The Brody File put together a 2:30 minute piece for The 700 Club today previewing Rick Warren's Compassion Civil Forum starring John McCain and Barack Obama coming Saturday night. You can watch it above.
Rick Warren knows all about the criticism coming from fellow conservative Christian leaders. You know…he’s too soft on liberals or he ditches the abortion and marriage discussion in favor of causes near and dear to the hearts of progressives. Here’s how he responded to me during our one on one interview at Saddleback Church. <
Rick Warren has his critics from both the left and the right. Watch him address them above and read the transcription below. It is part of my one on one interview with the mega-church pastor in advance of his Compassion Civil Forum at Saddleback Church Saturday night. <
During my one on one interview with Mega-Church pastor Rick Warren, I asked him if he’s discussed the abortion issue with Obama. After all, Obama is pro-choice and Warren is pro-life so what was that conversation like? He didn’t reveal details but watch above and read below. <
Many in the media have started to say that Rick Warren could indeed become the next Billy Graham, America’s next pastor. <
In my one on one interview with mega-church pastor Rick Warren, he made clear that he is still committed to the pro-life and pro-traditional marriage agenda but he sees a bigger picture than just those two important issues. Watch his answer above. Read below: <
Barack Obama is featured in a new pro-family Christian campaign ad put out by The Matthew 25 Network. The Christian Political Action Committee is breaking new ground and in their support of Obama they've done a remarkable job of breaking through the media clutter to get noticed. You can watch the ad above. The ad will run Saturday night during the
It’s going to get a little personal Saturday night at Saddleback Church in California. John McCain and Barack Obama will spend an hour each talking to Pastor Rick Warren at his Compassion Forum. While some think the questions will be softballs, my sense after talking to him one on one Thursday in his office is that he’s going to bring out answers from the nominees that we have probably never heard before. <
In a one on one interview at his Saddleback Church, Pastor Rick Warren tells The Brody File that he will question Barack Obama and John McCain on abortion and marriage at his Compassion Forum Saturday night. Watch his answer above, Read it below. <
OK so John McCain doesn't like to talk about his faith in public. In my one on one interview with Mega-Church pastor Rick Warren, he compares McCain to Ford in that respect. Watch above. Read below.
Mega-Church pastor Rick Warren tells The Brody File that he will ask John McCain and Barack Obama a question about Jesus at Saturday night's Compassion forum.
I'm out in sunny California for the big Compassion Forum this Saturday at Rick Warren's Saddleback Church. Both John McCain and Barack Obama will be on stage taking questions about faith related issues.
The Brody File is expanding. No I am not gaining weight. In adddition to my CBN duties I will now appear on CNN regularly as a CNN Contributor.
The well respected Barna Group has an exhaustive poll out on faith voters and the 2008 presidential election. I'm sure the Obama and McCain camps will both spin this to their advantage but get The Brody File analysis below. But first read parts of the Barna poll below:
If it is ratified in Denver, the Democratic Party is going to add and change some abortion language in their platform as an attempt to bring more moderate Evangelicals and pro-life Catholics into the party.
Well I’m back from vacation. I had a great time. I spoke in Berlin just like Obama but only my mother , wife and a few Brody File groupies showed up. <
The Brody File is interrupting vacation to bring you an exclusive news story. We have in our possession a document that's being sent out by the McCain campaign to conservative, grassroots groups across the country today. It highlights John McCain's faith. To look at the document that's being sent out, click here. Read part of what it says below:
