Charlie Black, one of John McCain's top advisors tells The Brody File that Obama is not read to be Commander-in-Chief. Read the answer below. The video is above.
Brody: John McCain has talked a lot about his (Obama's) lack of experience and judgment, the question then, is Barack Obama in your mind ready to be President?
Black: We believe that he's probably not prepared to be Commander-in-Chief and you know a good example is this debate we've had this week where Sen. McCain said he ought to go back to Iraq, look at the facts on the ground, talk to the generals and that if he saw the dramatic change since he's been there two-and-a-half years ago, he might change his mind about withdrawing from Iraq.
Well, so Sen. Obama came out today and said no, no, if I go to Iraq, and I might, it'll be to plan a careful withdrawal, so what that means is that he's acting from ideology, and a Commander-in-Chief has to apply judgment and experience to facts on the ground. So Sen. McCain believes and I agree with him that maybe he doesn't understand the role of Commander-in-Chief and maybe he's not prepared. Again, he's a very admirable guy in terms of his intelligence, his ability to inspire people, a charismatic articulate figure, but four years ago, he was in the Illinois State Senate at this time and doesn't really have experience to manage the economic policy of the government, or health care or national security. When you look at what he says, it's really just the old liberal bromides from the 60s and 70s.
