Hillary's Not Going Anywhere

Maybe it's just a hunch. Maybe it's more than that, but after talking to people within the Clinton campaign I get the distinct impression that this race may not be over the morning of June 4. Hear me out.

When the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee meets this Saturday, there's a good chance that only half the delegates from Florida and Michigan will be seated. It's very unlikely that the FULL delegation will be seated and you know what? That just isn't going to cut it with the Clinton campaign.

The thinking here is that they would appeal that ruling to the Credentials Committee which would meet either sometime in July or in August close to the Convention in Denver.

Now if they delegations are seated in full, then the delegate math changes and Obama will be further away from the winning margin again. So that benefits Clinton. Plus - if Clinton is ahead in the popular vote too - you think she's just going to quit? Please.

So either way, it seems to me that Clinton could very well fight on. I understand that Pelosi, Carter, Gore and other big wigs could pressure her by coming out in a press conference after June 3 declaring the race over, but the bet here is that she stays in through the summer. Remember, she's "in it to win it." And so now, a tribute song to Hillary Clinton and all her supporters. Click here.
