When Barack Obama dies, how does he want to be remembered? The Brody File has exclusive audio from an interview he did backstage at the Compassion Forum a few weeks ago. Renaissance Communications is sending this audio out to churches across the country. <
Was Barack Obama's denouncement of Jeremiah Wright yesterday political? Hardly.
The Brody File has in its possession audio clips from an interview Hillary Clinton did after the Compassion Forum. Renaissance Communications has released them to The Brody File. They were broadcast to some Churches the week after the faith event.
Hillary Clinton is going to appear on Fox News's "The O'Reilly Factor" on Wednesday and Thursday this week. It will air over two nights. O'Reilly will sit down with her face to face in South Bend, Indiana this week. This is a brilliant move.
Barack Obama has had enough. This time Jeremiah Wright has gone too far. Obama came out at a press conference in North Carolina and basically tore apart his former pastor. Read below:
Brody File producer Robin Mazyck here with a guest blog for the Brody File. I am currently in the Tar Heel State producing a story on their upcoming primary election which will be held on May 6.
Jeremiah Wright did Barack Obama no favors. Pastor Wright’s appearance at the National Press Club today started out as a great opportunity to explain the importance of the black Church experience. Instead it turned into a circus atmosphere and ensured that the Wright controversy is not going away and has the potential to single-handily take down Obama’s campaign. <
The Brody File heads to Indiana this week. I’m working on an Indiana Primary story and I’ll be in Indianapolis this Tuesday for a Hillary Clinton campaign event. We plan to hit a few Obama events if he is there Wednesday. <
Hillary Clinton wants to debate Barack Obama one on one without a moderator. No media questions. If you’re Barack Obama, would you do it? Get my take below but first read more about Clinton’s offer: <
The Democratic Party has stolen the headlines on faith outreach and “God talk” during this 2008 campaign season but the Republican National Committee Deputy Chair Frank Donatelli tells The Brody File that is about to change. See his comments below: <
Reverend Jeremiah Wright gives a one on one interview to PBS’s Bill Moyers. It will air Friday night but PBS has released parts of it and The Associated Press reports below: <
Howard Dean and the Democrats want John McCain to pick up the phone and stop North Carolina’s Republican Party from running a controversial ad linking Barack Obama and Jeremiah Wright. Watch here: <
John McCain was talking religion yesterday on the campaign trail. More below from CNN: <
Hillary Clinton needs to win Indiana. So does Barack Obama. <
The Brody File appeared on The 700 Club Wednesday to discuss what's next in the Democratic primary. Watch my analysis above.
I was on The 700 Club tonight with Pat Robertson discussing Hillary Clinton's big win tonight. Get my analysis above. Below you can read what Pat Robertson had to say about her victory Tuesday night:
Barack Obama and his campaign are basically saying "no big deal" about Hillary Clinton's win. Here's what the Obama campaign is saying tonight through one of their "memos" released to the press:
I don't need to know the final results from Pennsylvania. 8 points. 10 points. Whatever. By winning Pennsylvania, Hillary Clinton has made an emphatic statement. She is not going away. As a matter of fact, the longer she stays in and wins, the harder it gets for Obama to win the nomination. Why? Because everyday that Clinton stays in the race is a day that she can accumulate evidence to bring to the super delegate jury and say, "I'm your gal." Before Pennsylvania there
I just finished analyzing the Catholic vote in Pennsylvania and I take a look at the landscape post Pennsylvania. Watch above.
The big Pennsylvania primary is tonight. I was on our Newswatch program yesterday talking about it. Watch my analysis above.
The 2008 campaign is being fought not only on the campaign trail but also on Godtube.com. The Clinton, Obama and McCain camps all have uploaded videos to the site to reach out to people of faith. <
If Hillary Clinton wins big among White Catholics, she could win Tuesday’s Pennsylvania primary by double digits. This primary is a big deal for Hillary. She really needs a big win to show that she has the momentum. A double digit win will give her more credibility when she tries to make the case to super delegates that Barack Obama’s “bitter” and “cling to religion and guns” comments were a big time blunder and that he does not have what it takes to win
I guess Michael Moore won’t be invited to the Hillary Clinton presidential inaugural ball. (If it EVER happens) The liberal (I’m sorry...Progressive) actor has made his choice; he’s for Obama. But the way he ripped Hillary on his Web site today is striking. Read below: <
Maybe John McCain shouldn’t have sought and accepted Pastor John Hagee’s endorsement. Those aren’t my words. That is what John McCain is saying. Read below from ABC News: <
First it was Hillary Clinton. Now it is John McCain taking shots at Barack Obama over his relationship with 60’s radical Bill Ayers. Read more about the Ayers controversy here and watch John McCain criticize Obama about Ayers here. Read more from The Associated Press below. <
Barack Obama is looking for as much support as he can get. But he doesn't need this support. The main political advisor to the Prime Minister of Hamas, Ahmed Yousef said the following in an interview the other day with World Net Daily and WABC radio host John Batchelor. <
Are Jewish voters spooked by Barack Obama's middle name? Apparently Obama thinks so. Read his comments today to Jewish Leaders:
The Brody File tries to stay away from controversy. The Brody File tries to stay out of quarrels. The Brody File is really just a sweet, sweet Brody File.
The Brody File has searched the video vault again and brings up the following:
A source inside John McCain's religious outreach team tells The Brody File that John McCain refuses to use his faith as a political tool and hasn't decided whether he'll open up more about his relationship with God.This source is able to speak more freely by not revealing a name but this person has John McCain's ear on faith based issues. Read the quotes below: <
Tony Perkins, the President of the conservative pro-family action group FRC Action wasn't particularly impressed with this weekend's Compassion Forum. Read his email to supporters below:
John McCain has now released a statement regarding Barack Obama's "bitter" comments. Here it is below:
Reverend Joel Hunter is a well known conservative Evangelical in this country. He was one of the select few who asked a question at The Compassion Forum. He’s taken some heat for being part of efforts to broaden the Evangelical agenda. He has some straight talk for John McCain. <
Maybe it's just me, but it seems that people may be making too much of Obama''s "controversial" comments that came out Friday about small town America. See his comments below:
Some more information now on Barack Obama's Catholic Advisory Council. As The Brody File reported Friday, the Obama campaign is going hard after the Catholic vote and if they make it to the General Election they will try to reach out to Catholc pro-lifers even though Obama is pro-choice. A list of the council is here.
This afternoon, Barack Obama’s campaign will announce the formation of what they are calling their, "National Catholic Advisory Council." More details to come on an afternoon conference call but Senator Bob Casey and Former Congressman Tim Roemer will be on that conference call. <
The gay magazine “The Advocate” sat down with Barack Obama to explore his views on a number of issues. Read the interview here. Below is an interesting segment where he talks about what he’ll try to get done as President: <
Hey, this Compassion Forum with Obama and Clinton is a big deal. It's now gone international. The Brody File has been told that the big faith forum this Sunday night in Pennsylvania will be carried by all five CNN International Networks and on CNN Espanol as well! Muy Bien! Excellente!
Below you can read more on the ads but before reading from The Associated Press. Please watch this video of a two year old girl who can’t decide between Obama and Clinton. You think she’s a Super Delegate? The video is here. Democratic presidential contenders tugged at voters' heartstrings this week, with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama debuting ads with grainy home-movie footage and heartwarming family interviews. Hillary Clinton on Tuesday unveiled a new campaign ad in Pennsylva
One of Hillary Clinton's biggest supporters, Lanny Davis takes a few shots at Barack Obama and Jeremiah Wright in a Wall Street Journal op-ed. Read below:
The Brody File has been accumulating information about how John McCain is planning to reach out to Evangelicals.
The Brody File has confirmed that Barack Obama WILL attend the religious Compassion Forum next Sunday April 13th at Messiah College in Pennsylvania. Hillary Clinton has already confirmed that she'll be there. John McCain was invited but has declined the invitation. His campaign tells The Brody File: "We have a scheduling conflict."
Privately, and sometimes publicly, conservative Pro-family leaders grumble about how John McCain never really talks about his faith. For example, at the recent Council for National Policy meeting of social conservative leaders, McCain didn't open up about his faith and afterwards, The Brody File is told that pro-family leaders wanted to hear more from McCain on his walk with God. They're left disappointed. They are not big fans of the "generic Judeo-Christian lines" that come forth and
Mitt Romney has been out of the presidential race for awhile now but some social conservative leaders are still concerned about him. They are worried that he'll be McCain's Vice-President. Check out the open letter to McCain here from these family leaders. The names attached to this open letter are big ones in the social conservative world but one stands out: Paul Weyrich. He endorsed Romney during the primary and now has signed this letter trashing Romney for VP. Huh? Excuse me while I scratch
So here's the wining ticket for John McCain in the fall. Win over Evangelicals and moderate to conservative Catholics. If he can do well in both groups, he's got a real shot at winning the presidency but his campaign MUST mobilize these groups. It's going to take some work and the McCain camp knows that. What they CAN NOT do is assume Evangelicals will come out and support him. He's going to have to work for it unlike a George W. Bush. To think that Evangelicals will just head to the polls and c
John McCain continued his "This is Your Life" tour today in Alexandria, Virginia, and spoke about the need for school vouchers. See below from his speech:
Barack Obama's comments about how he wouldn't want his daughters, "punished with a baby" got a mixed reaction from Brody File readers. Below is a sampling of the hundreds of emails I received about this:
