I recently sat down for a lengthy interview with a former colleague of Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri.
Ex-terrorist Noman Benotman met with the two Al Qaeda leaders in Kandahar, Afghanistan shortly before 9/11 to discuss strategy.
He shared his insights with me about UBL and al-Zawahiri, based on his personal interactions with them. Here is a sampling:
--Al Qaeda considers the U.S. a “paper tiger.”
--Bin Laden takes great pleasure in the killing of innocent civilians and the way Al Qaeda's attacks are portrayed by the Western media.
--Al Zawahiri, not Bin Laden, is the most extreme individual in Al Qaeda.
Benotman, who now lives in London, has since renounced Al Qaeda and is at odds with the group. Click on the viewer below to watch my report.
