I had the great pleasure of sitting down for an extended interview last month with my good friend, Dr. Tawfik Hamid. As a young man in Egypt, Tawfik was a member of the Islamic terrorist group, Jamaa Islamiya (JI). One of his cohorts in that group was none other than Ayman al-Zawahiri, currently Al Qaeda's second-in-command.
Luckily, Tawfik realized the error of his ways, left JI, and became a fierce and courageous critic of radical Islam. He now lives in the U.S., where he is a leading Muslim reformer and brilliant strategic thinker. We covered a wide range of topics in our interview, which will air in its entirety on CBN's 700 Club program early in the new year.
Click on the viewer below for a sneak preview of what to expect, as Tawfik gives a powerful defense of Israel. His support of the Jewish State has made him persona non grata even among members of his own family and is done at great personal risk. Needless to say, we need many more Tawfik Hamids in the fight against global jihad.
