Why Does Iran Want the Bomb?

For years, the world’s media has tracked Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons - how much enriched uranium they have or how many centrifuges they’re now using. But why does Iran want a nuclear bomb in the first place? Why this fervent, obsessive attempt to develop a nuclear device? Menashe Amir, one of Israel’s top Iranian experts, explains how a bomb fits in with Iran’s messianic drive for this weapon of mass destruction.

# RE: Why Does Iran Want the Bomb?

The International Atomic Energy Commission finds no evidence that Iran has a weapons program--and there have been hundreds of inspections. The inspections corroborate statements by Iranian officials that they aren't pursuing 'the bomb'.

Israel reportedly has about 400 nuclear weapons and refuses to sign the Non-Proliferation Treaty. Iran is a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty. Israel is fomenting hatred and beating the war drums.

Please, as Christians, let's not bear false witness to Iran's stated and observed intentions for civilian, peaceful uses of nuclear power. The evidence shows Iran is not pursuing nuclear bomb capability.

This isn't a TV video game. The consequences of attack on Iran--deceptively and openly orchestrated by Israel--is a game changer. It is not as simple as: Bomb Iran. Iran loses. America wins.

Jesus would not recognize what is being done in his name.
