Canadian parliamentarian and former justice minister Irwin Cotler said it is time for the international community to bring Iran’s culture of impunity to accountability.
“President [Barack] Obama and other international leaders gave the Iranian leadership until the end of 2009 to respond to international offers regarding becoming a responsible player in the international community,” Cotler told CBN News.
“Iran has not only not responded and reneged when it appeared to respond but actually it has been engaging continuously in hostile and defiant acts escalating each of the threats,” he said.
“Not only has Iran not acted, Iran has intensified its violations and the international community must now implement its legal obligations with respect to crippling economic sanctions and we set forth a road map for such sanctions, calibrated, targeted, comprehensive sanctions,” Cotler said.
