HISTORY's hit miniseries The Bible has been nominated for three Emmy Awards. The Mark Burnett and Roma Downey-produced series shares the Outsanding Miniseries or Movie category with American Horror Story: Asylum, Behind the Candelabra, Phil Spector, Political Animals and Top of the Lake. The Bible also received nominations for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Miniseries, Movie, or a Special and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Miniseries or a Movie.

This past spring, when The Bible first aired on HISTORY, Hollywood Insight and gave you an inside look at Burnett’s 10-hour miniseries chronicling major historical events stories as told in God's Word. (Check out the in-depth webpage: Experience 'The Bible').

Mark Burnett and Roma Downey on The Bible set

Burnett, who is famous for producing hit reality TV shows such as The Voice and Survivor, along with his wife/actress Roma Downey (Touched By An Angel), dedicated themselves to seeing this project done, hoping it would inspire the faithful to dig into the Bible more and enlighten unbelievers to what the Good Book has to say.

The Bible premiered on HISTORY on Sunday, March 3, 2013, and was a big success for the cable channel.

The 65th Emmy Awards airs live Sunday, September 22, 2013, at 8 p.m. ET, on CBS.
