Eye Scanning, Nutrition, And Beyond

Two optometrists who offer the Optomap scan in this part of Virginia are:

Kenneth A. Lebow, O.D.
345 Edwin Dr.
Virginia Beach, VA 23462
Phone: 757-497-5555

Steven Wilkins, O.D.
5386 Kempsriver Dr # 101
Virginia Beach, VA 23464
Phone: 757-420-2001

This is the consumer website for Optomap. If interested in exploring where to get such a scan, look on the left side of their website for "Find an optomapĀ® Provider." The company is Optos.

For another eye-scanning device, take a look at RTVue from opthamlic manufacturer Optovue. This is a more advanced device, whereas Optomap is for general use. Both are very important and have their place, according to leading research optometrist Dr. Stuart Richer.

Richer also recommends taking a look at ARIS - eye scan technology from a company called Visual Pathways -- which he describes as "an intelligent retinal camera."

Richer and his colleagues have a number of technical articles about eye nutrition sponsored by Review of Optometry.

Another colleague of Richer's -- health journalist Bill Sardi -- provides a good overview with information from a talk "Nutrition and the Eyes". Sardi has other medical publications available at Natural Health Librarian.
