Pastor Youcef Pressured to Recant--Again

The Iranian government is once again pressuring Iranian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani to recant his Christian faith.

According to The Voice of The Martyrs, the demand came just last week when Pastor Youcef's lawyers met with Chief Justice Heshmati of the Gilan Provincial Court. Heshmati again stated that the house church pastor would be freed from prison if he leaves Christianity and returns to Islam.

And again, Pastor Youcef told his attorneys that repenting means to return--it is impossible for him to return to Islam because he was never a Muslim at any time in his life.

A verdict in the Nadarkhani case was required by law nearly four months ago, but because of an international uproar, the mullahs who rule the Iranian judiciary decided to delay a final decision for up to one year. They said they wanted to give Pastor Youcef time to recant.

So, what's really going on here? The Iranian government fears validating a previous court ruling mandatng that Nadarkhani be executed for apostasy. It also believes it would lose face if the pastor is released.

So, the stalemate continues with Iranian government officials hoping people will simply forget about Youcef Nadarkhani. They'd prefer that he rot in his cell, that the matter would disappear.

As he languishes in prison, Christians around the world thank God that Pastor Youcef is still alive.

Let's continue to pray for a miracle.

What concerns me is if he is freed, what will happen to him and his family? Will they meet with an accident, fire, etc. They (the muslims) don't want to give an inch for anything Christian! I do continue to pray!!! How is his wife and children surviving?

My prayer for Pastor Youcef is that God will do for him what he did for Daniel in the lions den and the three Hebrew boys in the firey furnace. I pray that God will make it impossible for his captors to harm a hair on his head. God is able to deliver him if we all pray in faith. I pray strength also for his wife and family This has to be incredibly difficult for them.

Praying that he will be faithful to the end, and that he will be able to continue to endure, through God's grace. Praying also for a miracle that the world will see and not be able to deny nor explain away...that Jesus will appear to those who are persecuting. So hard for his family....pray that they will not become embittered.

I pray Yahushua protects you and that you are released soon. I pray that those who hold you will deem it necessary to let you go home to your family. I pray also that you are escorted here to the United States. I thank You Father that although we do not deserve it we get what Jesus deserves. As He is in this world so are we. Does Jesus deserve to be in jail? Neither do we. Thank You Father for your protection of our brother Youcef.

Children of the Most High God, let us pray that this dear brother be blessed like Joseph was as he was in prison...given favor by his captors that the Gospel could be spoken there in that place and God's Glory would be felt! Remember the passage; ah Lord God, Thou hast made the heavens and the earth by Thy great power... with Thine outstretched arm..nothing is too difficult for Thee! SO BE IT! And to his family, a supply of Grace and help for evey need because Jesus is Lord, our trust is in Him. As Peter was in prison, the Church was praying and God sent an angel, thank you, Lord!
