Profanity in the Media is Not Harmless

The increase in the use of profanity on television is not my imagination. The Parents Television Council did a study in 2011 and found that the amount and gravity of profanity on television is higher than ever. One reason had to do with a FCC ruling in July 2010. Basically, a panel of judges allowed broadcasters to freely use expletives in the late night hours when challenged in court.

Reflecting on Dad is a Reflection on You

Try this simple exercise. Write down five positive and negative traits of your father. Now look at those traits. How many of them are true of you and/or the person you married? Truth is, we are attracted to people who are familiar to us. Often, we unconsciously seek out partners that remind us of dad (and mom) or we become much like our parents.
