Keep an eye on this story - American attack helicopters today entered Pakistan and returned fire on a group of militants who were firing at them. The number of dead is somewhere over two dozen.
In response, the Pakistani government has closed its border with Afghanistan, stranding hundreds of trucks filled with much-needed supplies for America's war effort here.
Nearly 600 cargo trucks per day enter Afghanistan carrying supplies bound for ISAF - everything from food to armored vehicles. This could be serious.
Add to this, the rumblings I've been hearing that ISAF forces may soon push into the Federally Administered Tribal Areas in Pakistan to clear out Taliban safe-havens if the Pakistan army is unable - or unwilling to do the job.
I was within 10 kilometers of the AF/Pak border today, but on a different mission with the US DEA and so I knew nothing of the border fiasco until I returned to base this afternoon. I will be trying to make it back to the border in the coming days to perhaps get a first-hand look at the problem.
