May I Walk You Home: Sharing Christ’s Love With the Dying
Melody Rossi
Bethany House
ISBN: 978-0764203558, 176 pages
Melody Rossi saw God work in the hearts of three close family members who died within a span of twenty-eight months. When she had nearly given up hope that they might believe, she was amazed to find their hearts softened to the gospel message. Melody learned that illness has a way of making a person hungry for the truth about spiritual matters. "May I Walk You Home" shows how to:
• Serve in ways that speak louder than words
• Respond to signs of spiritual openness
• Discuss matters of eternal importance
• Cope with the ups and downs of this difficult time
May I Walk You Home deftly tackles the serious subject of how to effectively evangelize a dying non-Christian loved one. The information is shared in an interesting and easy to read manner, and I actually read this book in one sitting. Rossi tells poignant personal stories and shares practical solutions to help those taking care of a terminally ill loved one. Although my intention was to read this book and pass it on, I found the information to be so valuable I’ve decided to hang onto it indefinitely.
May I Walk You Home takes an all-inclusive approach when providing information for caregivers of the terminally ill. It doesn’t just tell about the spiritual side of things. It doesn’t just tell about the practical side of things. It completely and fully addresses every aspect of caring for the dying and leading them to Christ. I recommend this book (and believe it would make a lovely gift) for those who volunteer in nursing homes or hospice—as well as those who are close to someone facing a terminal prognosis.
