Franklin Graham: Politicians Filled with Greed, Lust

With only hours to spare before the United States reaches its debt limit, evangelist Franklin Graham steps into the political fray to speak out against the current state of dysfunction.

In an exclusive interview with CBN News, he tells CBN's John Jessup greed, lust, and wickedness are at the heart of what's wrong in Washington and the country’s crises are the result of years of pushing God out of the picture.

Graham was candid and direct in his criticism of Washington. He also admonished the nation's leaders for not seeking spiritual guidance to find a way out of gridlock.

During the 2012 presidential campaign, Graham and his father, Billy Graham, supported Republican nominee Mitt Romney over President Barack Obama because of the president’s stance on moral issues, like abortion and gay marriage. However, the younger Graham did not exclusively lay blame on the current administration for America’s spiritual slide.

Graham said, “the country is slowly imploding” and there’s no hope unless “we repent of our sins.”

Graham is hitting the circuit promoting a new book written by his father, Billy Graham, released this week:The Reason for My Hope.

The younger Graham believes the Christian gospel has the power to change hearts, save lives, and fix the country.

Dear Mr. Graham, Most of the politicians who talk about prayer so much are the ones who shut down the government to begin with. They caused the problem. Pharisee-like, pious, I'm better than you religiousness is not the answer. True repentance over our own sins as believers is. If MY PEOPLE who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and TURN from THEIR WICKED WAYS, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 COR 7:14

I believe there is a growing spirit of Antichrist in the hearts of the unsaved in this country. The unsaved believe they should be able to do anything they desire.(as represented in the perverse actions of those who gathered in cities and parks, creating havoc wherever they desired. I don't remember hearing anything about the people who trashed public and private property being prosecuted for their perverse behavior. Defecating in public like animals, performing lewd acts etc. It was obvious that presidential favor fell on the people, the hands of the police were tied.
But, don't you dare let a child or anyone else carry a Bible into classroom, or write a paper on a well known profit in the Bible - boy oh boy, all of our legal rights will go down the toilet.. the police will be there in a heart beat.
We recognize what spirit is in the Obama White House....

Franklin Graham is spot on. Christians know it and understand what he is saying. The wicked, the God haters, the morally corrupt think the gospel is foolishness while they are (spiritually) perishing. But, as the Bible teaches, there is nothing new under the sun. When the wicked stand before Christ at the Great White Throne Judgment, they will finally realize that they were all deceived. Unfortunately for them, it will be too late. Their punishment for denying Christ is spending eternity without any of His benefits in the lake of fire which burns with brimstone.

Yes, we need to raise up from where we have fallen as a nation and put OUR GOD where He belongs AT THE CENTER OF EVERYTHING.
